Trouble In CloudLand is a 2D game that features star-shooting mayhem and powerup collecting goodness. Conquer three unique worlds populated by troops of loveable but devious foes. Simple controls put you right in the action, while allowing for multiple play styles. Evolving gameplay will challenge even the most experienced of players. Trouble In CloudLand was developed over four months by Joshua and Jony. It was programmed using Python and Pygame in Eclipse.

Trouble In CloudLand does not use TGB, but I would still like to thank the entire garage games community for your excellent resources and tutorials. Without which making this game would have been nearly impossible!

Fantastic job guys, very polished!

I really enjoyed the simple but fun gameplay, and the music was perfect. This is the type of game more people should focus on creating as a first project instead attempting yet another mindless fps, or mmorpg.

Seriously, good work both of you!

I have only one inquiry about the game, you say it's written using Python and Pygame, but your websites only has a single download link for a windows binary -- I've done some Python/Pygame development in the past, and I'm simply curious as to why you do not provide cross-platform binaries, such as an OSX and Linux download?

I played the game shortly, I found the gameplay to be a bit annoying, but I'm not much for casual games, I see a lot of potential for my kids to enjoy it and am going to let them give it a whirl next chance they get to use the computer :)

Very well done, I enjoyed the grapic style and the background music/sound

Thank you all for your kind words. We both worked very hard to make something we hoped everyone could enjoy.

Sam, I agree with you. Many of my past projects have never seen the light of day because I always was biting off more than I could chew. Even in this game there were many things I had to cut out to keep the project managable.

David, we will be providing cross platform support here in the near future. This game was developed for the Shmup-dev.com AutoFire 2007 competition, so we had to have a Windows executable by February 1st. I do hope your children enjoy it and maybe you will give it a second chance(Opulent Dream is devilishly hard).

wow.. pygame!.. I'm learning pygame myself, currently. Is that particles? I thought pygame doesn't suppot them yet. Joshua, you're my hero.. You've added the quite few list of commercial quality games made with pygame! I'm pumped!

ps. resources and tutorials of python/pygame here? for real?

Soy.bean, there aren't any Python tutorials here. I have read many resources here for Torque and C++ and translated them into their python equivalent.
