Hey, I'm testing the TGE but does it really depends on such unprofessional editors? like quark or GTKRadiant? I found in these blogs that the best solution would be 3d world studio, but it is still to poor of resources, I mean, why i need Torque is for making RV simulations of real places, so I would like to at least put a background image like a blueprint, soh I would mount it correctly, thing I couldn't find in 3DWS.
There isn't another way to make this DIF files? cause I found these softwares very unstable also...
and since constructor is coming soon for such a long time...

Because CSG modeling has some different rules and assumptions than regular modeling.

Constructor will be out someday, but for the moment GTKRadiant is an awesome tool. Its a pretty professional tool considering its derived from the software that Id Software used to make all of the Quake games. It takes a bit of work to get GTKRadiant setup to work with Torque, but it works amazingly well.

None of thoes editors are unprofessional.

Deled3D is a very solid DIF Editor. It has a Torque Exporter, check it out.

Does 3DWS or Cart Shop4 have a scene browser? Quark seems to be able to group objects in a scene graph, but I can't find one for 3DWS, which poses the question, how do you organise your scene in 3DWS?

I agree with Nick from above -

I have tried various editors and find that I like Deled3D alot. One of the big pluses for me is the easy UVW manipulation; makes getting your textures "just right" pretty easy.

As a traditional modeler, I have taken to it alot more quickly than other editors; although I'm not sure exactly why... lol. It just feels alot more like the 3d apps that I'm used to, I guess.

The Torque exporter for it costs 14$ - but I still think it's worth it.

I agree to Deled3d is outstanding software. I have done things in it I thought would be impossible.

That looks really good - Deled3D - I'm gonna buy it.

Things I learned from this blog:

1) Professionals could never use something like Radiant or UnrealEd, or Hammer to make a professional game. QuArK has never been used as a professional tool for developing mod levels that have made it into commercial, professional production.

2) I need to buy the DIF exporter for my license of Deled.

Okay, I only learned one thing.

What I mean't for unprofessional it's because in all the softwares tat i tested, there were always some bugs, sometimes in texturing, sometimes in saving and reopening, I found these softwares very unstable... and in most of them a disturbing lack of resources.... like in GLB for 3dmax, the possibility to raise walls from a spline, a schematic draw of the place, is awesome... but until you save the file and reopen it, so you will find all the doors and windows misplaced.... and I do not work in game developing, but in computer simulation of real spaces... so that's why these softwares haven't all the resources....

remove the " ' " of the word meant above.... ;)

Those editors aren't unprofessional, they just aren't specifically made for TGE. They are mostly for iD games, and world just fine in games like Doom3. As for the bugs, of course there will be. Developers of those editors aren't being paid to create special features for TGE games.

Just wait for constructor. I think it will be cheaper compared to 3D World Studio and DeleD (these guys actually want you to pay for plugins). Though if you still want to, I recommend 3DWS over DeleD.

Deled3D has a nice Scene Manager - not too great though, I couldn't see a way to add NULLs and group objects under those nulls, however it did allow you to make prefabs and then make a scene out of prefabs. As far as I can see 3DWS and Cart Shop do not have a scene manager, but Quark does. Unless I can't see it.\

And you need it when dealing with hundreds of primatives otherwise it's too hard to find walls, primatives etc. in the scene.
