Do you have any plans to release the Feint Engine as a 'developer pack' or some such beast in the future?

So it's Street Fighter with swords, always set in rivers? ;)

This game looks really interesting Ian. It's not the prettiest, but it's one of the few games thats managed to grab my attention and anticipation. Are you guys going to be giving up the goods on possible control schemes? Realistic swordfighting sounds cool. I'm curious about how the game controls will be set up.

Hey guys.

Sean: we'll be showing a load of info in the two months to release, and if you want information as soon as possible our blog (www.mode7games.com/blog) has it all first.

Midhir: after release, we will be looking into releasing as much of our tech as we can. We want to give back to the GG community; making indies a success doesn't just stop with any one developer.

Jon: that cuts to the heart of what we're doing in such a deep way I just can't talk about it further.

We're rocketing right now, and Determinance has turned into exactly what we wanted it to. We're always available on #determinance on irc.maxgaming.net (that's right, the GG irc server).

Wow... This looks like it improved quite a lot, since the last time I saw it.

Have you started focussing on the landscapes, etc?

Ian Omroth Hardingham   (May 10, 2006 at 11:12 GMT)
Burning, we spent a good deal of time making the landscapes up to scratch.

It looks empty though... Suppose to be that way?

Yeah, it's our style.

Ian,

Is the rock in the first picture a DTS or the terrain? The reason I ask is that our textures always look stretched out and yours looks fantastic.

Keep on rocketing, its looking really good!

Ian Omroth Hardingham   (May 11, 2006 at 00:11 GMT)
Hi William.

While we do infact use Difs (not DTSes) for some rocks, everything you see in that shot is actual terrain. We use a couple of tricks (like stretching for certain faces) to make stuff look good.

Many thanks for the compliments, really glad you like the look. Email me if you'd like further info on our techniques.
