Blog post
** Warning ** Long post Alert
Each month for the contest we have to make a large blog somewhere as a requirements. Its been good dscipline to do these post, true the weekly ones on our blog are much more informative and detailed. But having a good place to sum stuff up and look at it from a different point of view helps
For those that want to read the weekly posts, in their entirety
www.mydreamrpg.com/community/showthread.php?t=1594

This months we did lots of artist and promotional preperation. I entered talks Ian Sokoliwski, a prominant Comic and 2d artist. We signed all technical details that we will hope will bring some smiles and get some attention.

For a full list of his work and some of his credits
www.ianthecomicartist.com/biography.html
Ian Sokoliwski is a Canadian comic book artist, working professionally in the field since 1997, and is currently best-known as a comic book colourist (or colorist for his American friends).
Starting out as a Digital Artist for Digital Chameleon, Ian has since branched out on his own, as a credited colourist on such titles as The Chronicles of Conan for Dark Horse Comics and Shadowflame for Arcana Studios, and recently as a credited inker on Lotus for Zeros 2 Heroes.
Over his career, Ian has also been involved in book illustrations, poster and t-shirt designs, cover design and illustration, and a multitude of private commission work. He is also the creator, writer, and artist on two different webcomic ventures, SELIG: the Second Coming and BATTLEWITCH.

We also added a brilliant pair of artists to our team, to work on one of our promotional items, that could mean one of our more long lasting project in parellel with the game.

For those that are keeping up with the game but dont keep up with out monthly post, We have gotten our monthly posts. We ranked 5th place. Fantasci: 9150 points.

This is the break down of our teams points.
A Perfect Weekly Score of 1200, which means we maintained good monthly blogs, We scored perfect on our monthly posts, also 1200, which ties directly into the first score also perfect, we have been trying to keep our developement as open as possible. What do you guys think? Our Third point, 300, in regard to web/forum totals we are a bit dissapointed with, in response to only have 413 folks viewing our site since starting we have been working on getting it updated and prepping for our next stage, mentioned before. Our publicity push has started, we are just working on some new recruits, Ill get to those in just a moment. And our last score 500 for art. We will try to provide more art in further blogs. Our Judges comment: Use that website! Something we pray will be up soon.

When i was sitting down doing the writing for the storyline for Fantasci, I wanted to a a whole science fiction story, but I wanted to blend the elements of stories that i loved and cultures that facinated me. These items fuel the story, Medieval Fantasy, blended with Fuedal Japan, Atlantian mythos, Heavy Sciencefiction, Tribal Indian mythos, and a slightly altered Dwarven culture reference(the underground orcs, take many culture cues from the typical fantasy Dwarf.) But i didnt want to do a Fantasy game, or a just a scifi game, the game is much more global then that. for the purposes of this contest you folks have only seen what is essential chapter 1. The awakening as i call it. Players telling that story. the next portion is call the Discovery, where The truth of the aliens disappearance and the players will become not just passengers of the Research vessel, but its owners. Imagine the stories for that. a moon sized ship provides a huge volume for material. Are there other ununsed or failed Geopods, like the other 6 active ones, whats outside the ship. And lastly the fun one that i cant wait for, and thats the War. Yes the best is always last in the flow of the storyline. As the players get involved in the war that they were originally destined for. Why am i telling you these things.

Becuase, after my meeting with my artist, I released that some people who look at my project, they dont see the whole picture. How could they, they just see a half finished game, being labored on by a few guys. Some groups have more, some have less then we do.. But the point is we are here. We have a huge storyline. alot of materials and assets. What we need is people to step forward and join our team for the long haul. We have too much of a scope to make a full version available by the end of the contest. Should we have used a prefab. maybe, but none of us know python, and the other mmokit, while functional, didnt allow for the modern features that we were looking for. We need is more folks to come this way and say, we would like to join your team, you see our blogs, we hiring. You have a AFX liscnce, or even if you dont, we can look at arrangements for you. If you are a artist , drop by too. Weither this is a rant or just a statement of facts, this is where we are at. We will be striving to have a singleplayer demo available in a few months, but we need help to make that happen sooner. If it does not happen, we will be continuing under our own steam, we have a solid team, and a solid set of goals. Will we make the goal of the contest we are in. We do hope so, are we worried if we dont. no.

On point of bright news, we are looking at getting a booth at the Annual Scifi and Anime show, Keycon in Winnipeg Canada. If your local, give me a shout. To be able to bring more local interest in. We have a large local fanbase. Something that cant be tracked online. In fact our first release will likely be locally, and in limited fashion online for beta testing which will include the GG and DGI fanbase.

Now a few screenshots.

We are currently knee deepin this end stretch, so we dont have alot of time to do alot of screenshots, but when we get back to them, we assure you. You will be impressed and stunned. Bear in mind all the stuff you saw previously is alpha. even the above pics are all alpha and we plan to continue to refine and improve till we make it to beta. It just takes time, Fantasci was not built in a day. But you will be seeing it as it develops.

Well.. I wouldn't say I'm stunned still by the graphics... but it looks real nice and is about 1000 times better than what I could come up with. I'm impressed by your blog additions though... nice to see you are dedicated to updating it with pictures and progress reports. Keep up the good work - I look forward to seeing your final product!
