I downloaded several of the game demos and none of them had pre-game animations. Granted, animations take up more space than a plain picture, but still, an animation makes your game "that much more professional."

Anyway, I got inspired and made a few of my own using GarageGame's design.
Here are some screenshots of the animations.

Here are the links to the animations.

Very cool,

I was actually thinking about some sort of animated opening screen for my latest content pack, but didn't have time to do the research and figure it out.

So what would be the best way to incorporate something like this into the opening?

Neat :)

Just the other day I did an animated logo/intro thing for my current TGB project. It's pretty straightfroward and just uses imagemaps and blending commands.

I'd like to do something more fancy though and knock it out as a Theora movie that can play at the start. I haven't messed around with them yet though, and it's not exactly a priority at this stage.

I like that idea a lot. Very professional looking. Would be nice to animate main menus etc. too.

Just so you know... garagegames.com doesn't like you to mess with their logos. I believe the EULA states you must display the garagegames logo as it was provided and not to manipulate it.

If you have a comercial license, you don't have to display the logo... but i'm pretty sure they still don't want you to alter their logos.

All that aside, i think the actual animations are pretty nifty.

cool, what software did you use to create them?

I used Blender to make the animations and iMovie to spruce things up a little.

Having done quite a bit of work utilizing other companies logos in jobs:

Watch it with those fonts, those aren't the same fonts they're using in either of those logos and that's one of the most common places someone will have beef with a change to their logo (and colors).

GG should have already provided various acceptable still images or videos with details as to what can or cannot be altered. As they have not done so, it is safer to assume that they want you to use that single still image.

Unless someone has already okayed such things in the past, or does so in the future.
