Blog post
"Catapultia", first post has been a long time coming. This will be one demented mutha.
I'm not sure why I've never posted a plan until now. Maybe because I didn't think I had anything people would want to bother reading about until now.

After stepping back from two larger projects, the team I'm on has our sites on a new project. Working title is Catapultia which uses TGE.

Basically, the game will be a very demented 360 degree 3D action sci-fi/fantasy/catapult game with up to 8 players each on a different team. Many of the details are still being decided but the main flow of the game has been hammered out fairly well so far. Players will be able to pick a race and clan/flag to start with and randomly spawn with a very small army (5 to 10 characters of the race and clan selected) at a castle location on the selected mission. The player controls the main castle catapult and will have a vast selection of ammo types to pick from to try and pummel all enemies. Players will be able to win by destroying all the enemy castle sections, enemy army, or enemy catapults. There will be different castle types that have unique ammo types available that can be aquired by taking that castle out.

Here are some of the features either already working or planned:
"god cams" - instantly jump to cameras for better views of the destruction.
Pop-up taunts - automatic and player generated to fling insults.
2 types of force fields that can be activated, deactivated, and destroyed.
Catapult tension setting to adjust the power of the catapult launch.
Defensive AI and weapons for castle army.
Hi powered scrolling zoom.
Destructable castle sections.
Very unique animated projectiles. Here's just a few being planned (whale brain, wheel of stinky cheese, granny with walker, keg of beer, plus the standard bomb, boulder, dead horse type stuff). I did mention this was going to be demented didn't I? Ok, maybe f'ed up is more like it but it will be fun as hell to play which is the whole point for us.

Our team plans on posting a Dev Snapshot sometime in the next couple weeks.
Stay tuned....
