Blog post
I've been working really hard at my TGE FPS/Space Sim. I've now started experimenting with Space Stations and Interiors using Cartography Shop and the art pipeline.
*Warning* Programmer Art *Warning*

I've had great success implementing a few different resources from this community:
Vehicle Resource Which is fantastic during the development process and some great game play features as well.
Individualized Gravity This makes it possible to remove gravity from the mission and only apply gravity to individual objects, via a trigger, when a ship/player enters a space station. Great resource!
Flight Model for Wheeled Flying Vehicle I used this one as a guide to understanding flying vehicles and how to add additional properties to that particular class. Great work!
I've used bits and pieces from other places as well. I've learned a lot from the likes of Mike Kuklinski and Phil Carlisle Phil actually gave me a huge head start with some of his past work in the space sim area. I've not actually used much of his stuff, but it was a fantastic learning tool (call it a rough starter kit). It would be great if I could clean up my current build and submit it as a Space Sim starter kit, but that's just wishful thinking on my part.
There are many more people that have had an impact on my current work, including Wendell Brown and Anthony Lovell. There have been more... but these folks are great community leaders and thoughtful individuals for providing us with great resources and insights. Thanks guys! (that includes anyone I forgot to mention).
T2D Adventures
Sometimes it's just nice to change gears. When I get frustrated or discouraged, I tend to shift gears to something totally different. That way, I still have my mind engauged in something meaningful and fun, providing a creative outlet for my overactive imagination. It's also funny how life inspires us from time to time:
While doing some stuff for my real job I found myself getting frustrated, so I decided to take a break and cool off. I thought it would be a good break to take my dogs outside and play around. As I was taking them outside a bird crapped all down the back of my hooded sweatshirt.... nasty stuff. That's how my day started... it would end quite differently. After being bombed from above, my already existing frustration turned to anger. I came back inside and changed my shirt and realized that I needed to do something different to get my mind off this horrible start to my day. I've been wanting to get T2D for quite some time, so I decided to go ahead and purchase it and start tinkering around. First on the agenda....a game idea. Instantly I thought of a perfect idea that would blend fun and therapy:
Call of Dooty *Warning* Programmer Art *Warning* Notice the building pics? They are from Timothy Aste's Content Pack

I instantly thought of turning my dreadful day into inspiration. I'm a huge fan of Call of Duty series and WWII in general. So my idea came like a shot and I started to formulate all the different scenes for this stupid little game. I imagine all the levels to be WWII battle scenery and all the art will eventually reflect this style too.
All the art is just temporary place holders, but I think I'm coming up with a fun casual game that is pretty darn fun to make. Yes... I drew all the background stuff with MS Paint. What you see above is just less than 6 hours of work using the sidescrolling space shooter as a starting point. I'm really amazed how easy T2D is to dive into. Maybe it's because I've been messing around with TGE for close to 2 years now... who knows.
Anyway, I thought some of you folks would get a kick out of this recent turn of events....

However, I'm still having a tough time deciding how to incorporate Captial Ships into my game.... That will probably be my biggest challenge
