Blog post
I usually dont blog on my account, but use the RTS-SK Account Blog to make *announcements* and such. This time, as my first personal blog, I would like to make a simple tribute to those who work in the shadows to makes us happy, and often receive just rants in exchange.
Yes, the GG employees.
I dont like to make such distinctions, "us" and "them", but for the purpose of this blog, I will take the license, and just do it: "You people", are the soul of this community.
I dont wanna be unfair with many members here, who are almost indispensable, and effectively conform the backbone of it, but the very soul of this "place" is on the shoulders of those who do the hard work, and also have to heave the storms unleashed by desitions they dont take.
Those who are behind the good work on every new and old project; who are in charge of the coordination, and cohesion of this terrific community, and although it can be a Huge job, all in all, its working and advancing.
"You people", are in charge of delivering the -sometimes, unwanted- news. You often receive a lot of flak, and personally Ive shooted my part of it, when considered *apropriate*, but you were always there, resisting as you could, 95% of the times knowing that the politics behind some desitions and announcements are beyond your scope.
So just that. Just to tell what nobody says but everybody knows: We can be (as you can also be) bastards when came to debating some topics. But in the end, we are here because -I will dare to generalize- we feel this place like the best, and we fight many times because it matters to us, because we really care, but no one forget here that You Are Who You Are.
I will not be clumsy enough to write names. Better to say "All of You", you know who you are. Thank you to all of you.
Keep up the good work.

P.S.: sorry, no pictures on my first blog :P

Nice first blog Mate, totally agree with you. I've ranted like an infant myself on too many occasions but finally managed to grow up a bit the last few months. Thanks in great part to having met up with great people like you in this community and of course through my direct dealings with the GG employees.
Well said and well done :)
edit: Pictures next time or I withdraw your membership card!

Of course, it's not pleasant to have a "rant" directed at us. However, I strongly believe that it's better to have critical feedback than no feedback, or worse, fluffed up "feel good" feedback that makes us complacent. Don't get me wrong: we want the good feedback too. But we also want better dev tools, more accessibility to game creation, and overall, great games made by inspired people. Therefore, we must have the critical feedback.
We can't please everyone, so we sometimes have to make tough choices on how to make Torque better. But as long as we have the community behind our backs, I know we can get there. So in terms of an "us" versus "you," thanks also to "you" the community for pushing us forward to making the best game engines that we can!
