I guess finally purchasing the Torque SDK is maybe my Third Big Step.

I knew I wanted to build a game. Deciding what it was that I wanted to build and setting my goals was the First Big Step.

Settling on the Torque engine and GarageGames was the Second Big Step. That one involved spending a few hundred on books. Namely The Game Programmers Guide To Torque first. Then the set of Ken Finneys All In One books. These gave me enough of a grounding in the principles that I felt confident in my ability to fail.

Or die trying.

Now the Third Big Step is the buying of the TGE license. Its one of those non-refundable purchases (the book I could still sell if it didnt work out) so its something I left for last.

And finally I get to blog here.

I look forward to my own personal development.

Keep us updated on your projects, and buying TGE is a plus, I haven't even finished my game and it feels like i've already gotten the $100 back in entertainment value. Anyway, good luck.

I'd have to agree with Maxwell.

Good luck with your game and keep us posted! (:

I purchased my license in 2002. Never regretted it. It's been a good learning experience, and at times, fun :)
