Okay, this feels right.
It's funny because I've been following the development of Silicon Knight's "Too Human" and there are similarities. I've spent this long just developing the freaking story.
But this idea feels right. I've never felt comfortable working on any of my own titles for public consumption that wasn't Universal Warrior, even when I did Jack Thrash, I did it in a hurry and I think that was one of the many reasons it failed. But it's the closest I ever came to success, with help, when I actually saw some of the character animations. Makes me believe this can be done. And it also tells me that I'm capable of generating other types of drama outside of the Universal Warrior...um, Universe.
This is the first official story in the UW timeline. Sin Valafor has appeared on Earth (he has begun killing people but I haven't gotten that far into the story yet and I have to remind myself not to get too highbrow) and General Dunn of the TSO assembles a group of eight (playable characters) to meet him in battle. This includes Lee Hanson, his brother Terrence, Captain Ann Dalloway, Matt Brooks, John Fox, Nathan Lewis, and Alisia. Yes, I know I need one more.
Now, since the events of "Vengeance" happen so quickly after the events of "Training Ground" the only thing I have to cover is how this group eventually breaks up. But to keep the story under wraps, I know this is where Matt and Lee have their falling out and Neil Ryker is not involved in this story. I have to get this on paper on Saturday.
In doing this game, for XBox Live Arcade, I'm hoping to pay tribute to the great fighting games of my day, like Street Fighter 2, Fatal Fury 2 and Art of Fighting 1 and 2.
So here goes.
