Torque Tutorial Series - Level Of Detail Creation

Here is the third tutorial in the series, this covers the creation and export of LOD's (level of detail models). Lod's play a very important role, in maintaining r-speeds or frames per second in your gaming projects. So it is crucial to have these on almost ALL of your in game models.

Your tutorial is nice as always. I do want to mention, though, that once you get into more complex objects such as characters, cars, whatever then Maya's poly reduction tool can and will make some iffy changes, so be ready to go in and hack at your model to make it look as good as possible. In fact, I would go so far as to say that when you are building something more complex, it might just be a good idea to save LOD versions of your object as you go along building the highest LOD.

Just a friendly heads up for people that might go "wtf happened" when they see what Maya does.

@Affectworks; Yes that is very true, and thanks for pointing that out, I forgot to mention it haha, Maya likes to break your models if they are high res or more complex, for simple none complex shapes the "reduce" option works fine. Since these tutorials are more aimed to the beginner or new comer to Torque.
