Blog post
Here at DigitalShock.net, we are creating a new Character Pack, for the GG Community, and we are having a hard time deciding on what concept we would like to go with, for our new package. So we are here to ask YOU, the Community, which one do you prefer, or would like to see first on the GG Store. Concept 1, or Concept 2. Even if you do like both, please state the one you would prefer. Please and Thank You.

Concept 1

Concept 2

I like the first more. The second is cool, but very generic. The first looks like a space-samurai. Which is only one step removed from a space-ninja ;)

In any case, I'd buy the first before the second. Nice work on both though!

I'd say the second, only because the first one looks like a mix-between cyrax www.geocities.com/EnchantedForest/Cottage/1233/cyrax.jpg of mk fame and a star wars trooper www.chicagomarriage.com/photos/Star_Wars_groomsmen.jpg, also I think the second one, although more generic (Like Tom said), may mean be more flexible in it's uses/setting. In any case they both looking pretty cool all the same.

Laughs, I thought the first one was already modeled. I would say the 2nd one however, as Tom said, it is generic. For a character pack, this is a good thing.

The proportions look better in 2, but I like the helmet design of 1.

How about 2 but with 2 heads (i.e. both helmet designs).

I prefer the first one.

I really like the second one. So it has my vote.

The body of the first is very compelling, but I'm not fond of the helmet for that one.

I think people may be being swayed by the fact that 1 is "painted" and that 2 is merely a sketch.

As a consumer I'm more concerned with the program the character was modelled in, the skeleton setup and correct skinning. Just because it works in Torque that doesn't mean it's a well crafted model. I've only found two places that sell professionally configured player models.

The models are done proffessionally. we have a AAA modellers, that has done work for Activision, Midway, EA, and more. So the structure of the character will be done proprely.

Fucifer   (Jun 18, 2007 at 16:33 GMT)
I like the number 2.

James Brad Barnette   (Jun 18, 2007 at 16:50 GMT)
I think that they both have potential. the second one need to be fleshed out a little more. maybe some more detail on the body like tha top one. I like the head though. Did you do these concepts yourself?

No, my Staff members did them.

#2... like that one a lot.

Am I the only one who thinks the first one looks like cyrax's 3rd brother?
