Now we have a couple weeks to review the contest submissions in the 90-day, $1000 Build Your Dream Game contest.

I think the final number of submissions that made it in by the deadline was: 3!

We will be selecting several members of the mydreamrpg community to assist us in the testing of these submissions, two were Torque technology, one is not.

More news when I have it! Congratulations to the teams who got their submissions in, and good luck!

only 3 :( that's kind of sad .... any late entries??? (by that I mean were there more teams wanting to enter/ how many teams signed up?)

good luck to those that entered/participated.

There were lots of entries, but many had to drop out of the contest ahead of time. Next time around we will probably alot more time, and up the ante :)

In the end, 3 teams made it, 3 teams of people who had something to submit at the end of 90 days, which is quite an impressive accomplishment.

Considering the number of people who want to make a MMO and do not know the sheer amount of work involved, 3 is an extremely impressive number for finishing out the contest! Congratulations! I can't wait to see the results!

I agree -- I'm very impressed that 3 teams were able to get their act together enough to submit a project for this contest.

Kudos to those who made it! I'm genuinely impressed.

=)

While Fractured universe isn't really a complete game (Its has prototype level quests and combat), we will be continuing the development of it. 90 days isn't a long time... but we did end up with "Something" to turn in. In fact, its unreasonable to even think that a "Finished" MMO game could come out of it in that time. Now that we do not have to go at breakneck speed, we can polish things and improve what we do have. But, in 90 days, SgtFlame (Tony Richards) was able to get a very stable, with unique implementations of things, platform.

Honestly 3 isn't a bad number at all. People had 90 days to essentially learn this new code and how it works, plus make a game in their spare time. Thats a small undertaking for any Torque based team to accomplish even with adding in the MMOKit tech into the mix.

If you get the time you should try to profile each of the entires you recieved in another blog. I don't personally have the time to check any of them out in too much detail but I would love to see the work that was done even if its just a write-up and a bunch of screenshots.
