Blog post
Cheers all,
First blog. I have been working on a Game Project with Colleague here at Cleveland Institute of Art and we are way off our expectation for our Video Game Installation. We have been working on this game for year and only during the weekends. We both have to teach all week and it has been a hard time for both us. The great thing about teaching we get student volunteers. Yeah. Haha. We have a prototype but it markets the commercial game industry (due to a festival we showed here in Cleveland) and it is far from finished. We are going to go away from the commercial (coming months) ideas and go into a more conceptual idea and looks. Currently, it is a working video game. We have gotten a few art grants to support our game development habits. Some grants we have received art are from Ohio Art Council, Ingenuity Technically, and some others. We have currently applied for the Guggenheim and Citi Art Grant. The grants will be used for people to help us, printing large prints, shipping the art work, and equipments.
We have showed our game and given a few talks here in the Midwest. We have gotten great reviews and we are getting some fans. Yeah. People have ask us to buy the game but we are not selling the game yet and we are going to plan to sell it through the art gallery system and going to make editions of it. We haven't figure out how to do that yet. Hmmm.
We have our first major art show in Chicago this April. We are showing at Thomas Robertello Gallery (www.thomasrobertello.com) I am represented by this gallery (photography). Also, we showing it in few shows in New York this summer. I don't know which ones. But my colleague knows (Troy Richards) and I am really excited about it and stressed. Hahaha....Yeah......
Our goal and dream to be in the MOMA or the Whitney Biennial. Hopefully, sometime in the future. I only know one who has shown in the Whitney Biennial show that had video game idea. Cory Arcangel. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cory_Arcangel
Anyways, here is link to our webpage and explains what we are doing. www.ripongame.com The whole website hasn't been updated for a while and our game does not look like this now. Only update we have done is the Installation link and it was updated in July. The installation link has the closest look to it. We have been using some.
PS
Sorry for the bad English. Not American:)
