Blog post
I would like it very much if I could talk to someone on the realm wars team because, My friend and I have made the most amazing mod you have ever seen! I think the great Dr,soupy and I would make a huge asset to this realm wars team. We have been modding your realm wars game version RWWC for about three years now. I think our version and Ideas are something to listen too. How can the Dr.Soupy and I get on your team? We will send a coded version of it to you guys so you can experence our mod. Trust me when I say you ant seen nothin yet! I have some back ground in computers but Dr. Soupy has a B.A in comp graphics. He knows alot of scripting such as Java and all that. And he has learned the C++ script so well he can easyly speak it! Togther with my character scripting, and weapons scripts we kick some serious butt!!!! So what do you say want to see?

Wow....just wow.....

While your mod skills sounds uber l33t, have you tried using Google to search for realm wars and post on the appropriate site?

www.realmwarsgame.com

They have a contact section of the site....try there.....

Wow...

Looks like you're all out of spellcheck and common sense as well... Honestly, this is not a blog. You need to post to forums, not a blog, for this sort of thing. And yeah, people do doubt you're ub3r l33t sk!lls because your "blog" does not state any facts, only claims and suppositions which are only backed up by more claims and suppositions.

For the love of all that is good and green on this earth, post this to the forums!

Sounds like a kid. But hey, writing well isn't everyone's thing.

@Jacque: Why not release the MOD?

L Foster   (Jul 05, 2007 at 15:31 GMT)
Plus where's the screenshots and feature list of this Mod? Its kind of tough to get any interest going if you don't put a tiny bit in marketing it yourself to live up to the "best mod ever" claims.

I think the OP has a BS in blogging.

If you want people to take you seriously, drop some screenshots and post some information about what this l33t mod actually does. Writing may not be everyone's thing, as Ron stated, but dictionary.com and a spell checker can even the field.

ok here's some screenshots

praxinok.blogspot.com theres a pretty cool mod there but the super mod is not done yet. You can see a few pics there and download that shweet mod I made. P.S thanks for being a bunch of jerks! I may not be a smart as you all or whatever but trust me when I say I can script! WOot Woot

Michael Perry   (Jul 05, 2007 at 17:14 GMT)
@Jacque - I don't believe your intelligence and skills were ever the target of the backlash you received. Modding games and self-education is certainly one appropriate path to becoming a decent game developer. However, if you wish to be taken seriously and get picked up by another team/company, you must also hone your social and grammatical skills as well.

When I was hand selecting members for my company, Zombie Shortbus, I didn't invite the people I knew to be "bad ass programmers." I went after people I knew who were talented, but also had great communication skills. My current team knows their stuff when it comes to game design and development, but they are also courteous, patient, well spoken, and know the appropriate means of executing their ideas.

Good luck with your further ventures in game development.

OMGZ!1!!!

>And he has learned the C++ script so well he can easyly speak it!
C++ is a general-purpose, high-level programming language with low-level facilities. It is a statically typed free-form multi-paradigm language, supporting procedural programming, data abstraction, object-oriented programming, and generic programming.

Yeah, not seeing "script" in there anywhere..

Jacque Perin   (Jul 05, 2007 at 18:34 GMT)
Im not braggin about the mod just letting you all know I have seen alot of mod's and games made with torque. And have never seen it used to its full potential. What we are doing and yes we do own Torque game engine is designing a crazy fun game that has alot of time and effort put into the scripts. This game mostly based on scripts and not vizuals. You will be able to download and see our demo soon.

Why you got to be hatin'?

Michael Perry   (Jul 05, 2007 at 19:05 GMT)
You called me a jerk first. So, I thought I'd retaliate with appropriate force, albeit with better verbal skills. Also, I'm a bit bored at the moment. . .

Hope that's ample reason...

I was thinking along the same lines :) Gee, we seem to be getting more and more bullsh*t every now and then on here, it's a waste of space and unnecessarily pushes down relevant posts. I think gg need to monitor (or get someone to monitor) these blogs/forums more, and delete the nonsense and ban/warn anyone attempting to become even slightly twat'ish...

Michael Perry   (Jul 06, 2007 at 12:33 GMT)
Banning, deleting, or censoring in this case would not be ideal, simply because this blog could serve as a lesson for future newcomers. Posting irrelevant material in .plans, making great claims with no backup (usually a bad idea in a predominantly programmer populated community), and acting generally childish usually gets a reaction as seen here.

Believe me, there have been worse .plans, such as people asking for help with script or programming (which belongs in the forums). This .plan, after all, does have some very blog-like qualities. Not to mention, I'd like to believe that GG employees manage their time more wisely by working on engine fixes, updates, site bugs, and helping out in more important forum threads.

I know

Jacque Perin   (Jul 06, 2007 at 14:21 GMT)
So has anyone viewed the scripts in my mod? I see it was downloaded like 80 times yesterday.

Jacque Perin   (Jul 06, 2007 at 14:24 GMT)
Its not the super mod yet, but its works great and has a great system of clans installed. Thats what I have seen alot with mods they dont run smooth. Not everone has a super graphix card and all that so I tried to make even a crappy computer work with my mod.

Jacque Perin   (Jul 06, 2007 at 14:30 GMT)
I forgot to mention to come play a round on my server Praxinok! This game is for gamers! Lot,s o Fun!
