Blog post
Hi :)

I've bought T2D some months ago (november last year to be precisely).. I played with it for a couple of days back then, did the beginners tut, and liked it.. but then kind of forgot about T2D..

Untill now.. I downloaded the 1.1 beta and am really excited to start and develop the game I've had in my head for the last couple of years (the reason i bought T2D)..
I found my old gameplan last week, collecting dust somewere in my room (twas under my bed :o :$).. Read it again and found out that I still really want to make this game..

The game

The game has much in common with Soldat, a simple yet very addictive 2d online shooter (www.soldat.pl/main.php)..

check this game out! It's freeware and just a very small download. This is Soldat, NOT MY GAME!

I want my game to have the same simple control system (it's really good.. you can really get skilled just like you can in fps games), but I want my game to have more "body":
* I want to add an RPG system (gaining levels, better armour, better skills)..
* Add old school platform-game content.. (like small puzzles and NPC enemy's)
* Make co-operating with other players a key function (much like that 4 player zelda game on gamecube)..
To name just a few of the key things I want it to have.

I know I have a long road ahead of me before the game even resembles the concept I have in mind.. but I think that over time I can achieve most of the things I want.. (a long period of time, mind you)

Right now I'm not even thinking about the online gameplay that I want the game to have eventually.. I'm in the middle of the platform tut (thank god for that one ^_^).. and am planning to build my game on top of that once I've completed it..
First as a single player platform game.. getting all the gameplay I want in there..
And then slowely start to add the network play

This whole posts probably seems a bit vague.. and well.. it prolly is.. I guess I'm a bit paranoia and don't want my ideas to get stolen.. yeah and vain probably :P

I guess this is just my "Hello World!" post to the (T2D) community :P
I guess you'll hate me soon for asking stupid question after stupid question -_-"

I'll post another blog when I actually have something to show (in a year or 2 probably :P)..

Kevin

The last thing you need to worry about is someone stealing your ideas.

Ideas are like dandruff. Everyone has more then they ever care to have.

Your game looks very simailar to one I am planning on building once TGB has realtime multiplayer support.

Basically, it's a 2D shooter where everyone has jetpacks and the only weapons are various types of explosives... Heat seaking missles, rocket laucnhers, land mines, prox mines, bombs etc.

Good luck with your game :)
