Excellent, he's returned to the ring with new news after the broken arm...
Why the hell did I phrase it like that? Isn't all news new news which is new... it would be called news if it was old. It would be called olds... what the hell am I saying...
ONTO THE GOOD STUFF!
Well, I have returned in great spirits! Some of you may or may not know me either because of my absence or the fact that when I was here I stayed pretty quiet. To re-cap, I am a yougen around here at age 15. I did a bit of modding privately on the Torque Engine. Nothing great or revolutionary but it was good work for me. On March 1 I was at a Taekwondo tournament where I ended up smashing my right arm into many pieces in many areas. That'll set your project back a few months! Well, it gave me time to think and think I did! I realized that when I am older and I want a job in game development, who the hell is going to higher a kid who knows scripting in the Torque Engine? So, I have decided to go back to basics and to learn to create my own engine. Not that the Torque Engine is a bad game engine at all. It's an excellent engine at an excellent price for people who have solid game programming skills and who can build on the engine and make it suit them *BREATHE*. I can't do that and I couldn't do that so I will learn to do that. Hmmmm... I wonder if that made sense. If it didn't read it a couple of times, it did make sense after about the third read-over.
So, here I am. Creating not the greatest 3D engine ever but something I can call my own. It's sad to see kids with ideas for great games that are to lazy to learn the skills required to execute those ideas. Well, I will change that! I will rise up and learn what is needed to be great!
So, what have I done? I have bought many game programming books. I have also enrolled in some game programming specific courses. I have begun to create what I thought I could never do, and damn it feels good. I have a set plan all layed out this time for the new game. I cleaned up some of my profile stuff so that it's up to date. I have plans to launch two more website (one for my future game and the other for personal development). The one for personal development is for my ASP.NET appilcations that I will be releasing. Lots of cool stuff already created and more in the design stages. All of it will be released open source and free! More info on that in the coming up weeks. Oh, and I got my cast off my arm two months ago. Unfortunately, since then I have broken a finger, a toe and had degenerative back problems because of returning to Taekwondo. I still function though somewhat correct and work will still continue. Now, off to work, much needs to be done!

It sounds like you are a well motivated individual. With knowledge comes power and in the programming stakes, you can't read enough books and wade through enough of others code.
I wish you good luck with your studies! :)
I only wish that this kind of hardware/software technology was around when I was 15. A 4Mhz Z80-OA was about all I could get my hands on!
Good luck.

Right O' Paul but I hadn't signed onto that yet.
