Illumina
The illumina demo is now available for download. Its currently awaiting approval by the GG admins, so expect to see it up very soon.
The demo contains 3 multiplayer levels, with both team deathmatch and capture the flag gametypes supported on each map.
Its been a huge effort to finally get it out the door, and i hope everyone enjoys the final result.
Heres some solo shots taken from the demo

New Site
Whilst the demo release is pending, we are also moving to a new host and a new site design. The new site will be at www.singlecellgames.com and will act as a new portal for all our work (not just illumina). Its currently in construction so should be available within a day or so.
Future Of Illumina
Whilst i wait on feedback from the demo we are looking into what direction to take illumina next. TSE is the obvious choice , our plan is to do a basic port over to tse and see how that handles. Since we currently havnt recieved any interest for selling illumina commercially (hopefully that changes with the demo) we are unsure what will be happening in that regard. If anyone wants to talk publishing send me an email :)
Other Projects
Whilst i look into porting illumina to tse, ive also been fiddling with the new Torque Game Builder. i believe a small team such as ours is better suited to the 2d platform (its a pain trying to find 3d artists ), so ive started work on my first torque2d game.
To start i wanted to pay homage to one of my favourtie games ever Homeworld . So to start with i found some fantastic old homeworld concepts and began putting them in TGB.
Note: None of this art is mine, its all property of relic, these are just mockups, im unsure what actual art i will be using for our project

As for my actual Project, one of the main things i loved about homeworld was its designs and also its controls, so i want to emulate as much of that as i can in a 2d game
-2d rts set in space
-Large maps, ability to fly to numerous parts of a level
-Ability to zoom way out and zoom way in on any part of space and any unit (sensors manager)
-Ability to select units and direct them and attack
-Basic resource collection and building
-Multiple layers of a level, ships can fly in background, middleground and foreground places so ships can be attacked from all angles
My goal is to create the wonderful space backdrops and ship designs utilised in homeworld and combine them with my own unique 2d gameplay.
Anyway thats just some of the stuff coming up from SingleCellGames.

Really, the curved HUD is more realistic than a non curved one, so technically a HUD straight across should be more disorienting :P
At any rate, just give it a try! If you throw up, you would be our first case then we would have to have a Disclaimer at the front about motion sickness :P hehe...

Glad to see you got the demo out. Sorry I wasn't able to really give you any help at all, my plate is starting to look like a platter. Keep at it. Was worried a bit there with the old site down for a bit! =P I'll grab the demo when it's available and let you know what I think!
