This is an image of the main character in the game, Sara.

And this her friend, Aron.

I was working on the characters about a year ago, and rendered this out to remind me of where I was with them when I left off. The game I'm planning will have character portraits, although I'd like a less photo-real look. My next development step is to work with the tiles in the Adventure Kit, and try to define the exact look I'm going for in the world. That will help determine the final rendering style for the character portraits.

I really like poser...but poser has a look you can spot a mile away.

Nice!

I noticed you mentioned wanting to make a romance game. Are you thinking of it along the lines of the Sierra/Lucasarts adventure games or Mystlikes or something else completely?

certinaly nothing wrong with using poser especially exactly for that use of getting a great looking character potrait for a game

I don't see the big deal with Poser. Use it for what you can - even though you can't use it for the mesh - Nice work GamerGirl!!!!

Some folks have real problems with certain tools:) It is spottable by those in the field, but it shouldn't be thought of as a bad thing. It's a fast way to get quality that surpasses what just about anyone could do in the same amount of time. We've used Poser renders in lots of places, to mix it up we'll often hand paint over the renders to make them look less poser like or to add some fantastic details or lighting. We'll also pass quick posed character meshes into Max, add some textures, SSS and use advanced lighting to give an almost real look to the output. It's a good tool for lots of things.

I'm an MS Paint snob. I spot MS Paint from a mile away and immediately turn up my nose:)

I've seen some pretty amazing stuff done with Poser (and Bryce for that matter).
