Blog post
So I'm now almost a month into my internship here at GarageGames and I've been quite the busy little bee. Working on many things for many people and many people for many things, I've been just too dang'd confused and busy to post anything at all!
I finally got the good word that I should really stop neglecting my responsibility to my readers (all 4 of you) and post some of the goodness that I've been hackin' away at. So without further ado, I present to you, my latest creation, THE TOOL SET OF DOOM!
Ok so maybe it's not really a toolset of doom, but hey I think it pops more when I say it like that. I've had the awesome pleasure of working on creating a scene editor for T2D and after many days of designing and redesigning, I've finally got together a nice base for developing all the nifty editor tools I could ever want! I had originally considered spewing on for 5 pages about the design and what it does to aid me (and others?) in creation of editor stuff, but that would be boring and take up way too much of the little time I do have.
So what I've done instead is draw up a nice little video for you all to watch and a screenshot showing off how easy a scene is to manipulate with a simple tool that I wrote up in about 30 minutes. WHAT TOOL you ask?! Well it's really rather basic, more of a proof of concept than anything, but I've managed to create a tiny tool that lets you select any object on a scenegraph and drag and drop it wherever you like!
I'll no doubt have more to show off in the weeks to come, but I figure a little teaser would be fun to see, as I know I just absolutely love screenshots and videos, in my little world it follows that everyone else must love them too!
So here we have the T2D pool demo with some stuff moved around. I didn't really know how to make a screen cap show off the capabilities of the tool, so I just moved some stuff and snapped a pic.

I know, my arrangement stinks, but hey, I'm just a lowly coder :)
If that's not enough to satisfy your need for niftyness, here's a video of the editor in action (still very basic).
Video Goodness! - I rock at pool!
Sorry if you can't view the video, it requires Divx4 or better :( (can't kill my host)
I think that's really it because I can't shake this jones'n to go do more stuff, until next time!
