Well, my journal is done. It wasn't particularly difficult, just anothe DB table and a gui interface. You can have multiple entries under one topic, so the quest state updates as you progress.

Looking at my task list, I have the following to do before I reach milestone/prototype 1 :

- Merchants
- Looting
- Containers
- Map

Yeehaw! Sooo close..... soon I will begin adding content and iterating the game systems, yay! Coding is a vital aspect of a project, obviously, but the end result isn't particularly amazing to look at. Months down the line and its still just me and a couple of Korks standing around in a barren desert, despite whats happening under the hood.

I can't wait to start using the various kits I've bought and playing with art, adding in characters and backstory. I love exploring RPG worlds, reading interesting details about the history, etc. The most rewarding thing for me in developing an RPG is the chance to make my -own- world for other people to experience and enjoy. Thats what keeps me slogging away at the code.

All the hard work you are putting in now will pay off down the road when you can add information into the DB with ease. Just keep at it :]

yes totally know the feeling. So much work to get the underground infrastructure done! I had to make sure and take time to do some visible stuff ever so often to inspire me to keep working on the invisible stuff.
