Well, it's finally here - the Gemstone Texture Pack. It contains 435 textures of different gemstones, in 34 different categories. Textures are taken from actual gems, no texture is smaller than 128x128, and all textures are seamless for easy tiling. Textures were taken from specimens with everything from cracks to sparkle, and represent various states such as faceted, polished and raw. Many groups include multiple faceted types of texture, since different styles of faceting produce different effects in the gemstone. You may see textures with a horizontal effect, from an emerald-cut facet, or with spiral patterns from a round cut facet.

Check out the NetjerSoft
website for more information, or Click here: www.netjersoft.com/gemstoneTextureList.htm to see a list of all included textures.

Thanks Steve. :) As I mention on the site, not all of the gemstones have screenshots, and some of the screenshots are of stones that will be in the next pack. I did some rearranging after I put the page together. Also, I'm still trying to determine the best way to post the screenshots so they're clear, visible, but can't be directly downloaded. (I'm no web wizard, lol.)

I also have in-development screenshot images in earlier posts of this blog, and if you look at some of the newer models for Pharaoh's Frenzy at: http://www.netjersoft.com/pharoahsFrenzy3.htm, you'll see some of the textures in action. The Eye of Horus Amulet uses the Lapis Lazuli, Black Onyx and White Onyx textures, as well as a Beaten Gold and Carnelian texture that will be in later packs. The Amethyst and Tiger Eye Anklet uses, of course, Amethyst (included) and Tiger Eye (later pack) textures.

I had so much source material, I had to make a decision which textures to create first. I finally decided to go with the official list from the International Gemological Association. That meant Lapis was included, as was Tourmaline (not originally intended to be included), but Carnelian and Malachite were not. They'll be coming out in the next pack.

I would use a word with a mid transparency level in photoshop, saying DEMO.
Small enough the image can be visible, but large enough the image can't be used.
Nice work Netj.

I bought the pack and now have a large number of new textures for a very inexpensive price. Thanks!
