Blog post
I've been coming to GarageGames almost daily for a long time now to check the news, read some .plans and look at the Snapshots, but this has changed, now I also come to learn (and help if I can) because last week I decided to start learning about how to make a game, so I ordered TGE, Lighting Kit, TSE and Soldier Pack.

This is where I stand:

I really have no idea about Programing, but thanks to the resources of everyone I have been able to build the exe with Visual C++ 2005 Express Edition and even tweak some things, thank you!.

I have some knowledge about how to use Valve Hammer editor because some time ago I started making a single player level for Half-Life2 (my first ever). It was an assault to a Combine post placed over a Dam. It had almost all the enemies in place, with all the waipoints, triggers and the basic architecture when I stopped the development because I wasn't able to make what I wanted in HL2. And because of that, I can't stand using QuArK to make Difs for Torque, 3d World Studio looks ok, but I will wait for Constructor since I don't have to meet any deadline.

I had never used a 3d Modeller program before last friday. I had been looking for some options and since I can't spent 1000+$ the options just were Milkshape and Blender. Blender looked excessively difficult and I didn't like Milkshape, so I started reading the Blender's tutorial Noob to Pro, and after the the basic lessons I started working in a Shotgun for my game, and mysteriously, I found Blender to be very easy and very powerfull, I wouldn't change it for anything now. The results can be seen in the below's screen.

Texturing... Animating... I have never done them before, but with the time... I hope to learn too :)

I don't know what would have been of me without the help of everyone here, again, thank you.

That's all of my first .plan, I hope I have structured it well, but if not, please excuse me, I don't control english excessively well :/

Funny thing about Blender....I worked through the intro tutorial once. I did two or three models and then I didn't touch the program for about a year. When I came back it was almost as if I had never used it at all. Not an intuitive program, but it works once you get over the learning curve :)

I also hate Hammer. I got used to it enough to do some fun, low-poly HL levels, but I never got near the art design that defines modern 3d levels.

Thanks Allyn :), now a Minigun model I did yesterday.

I don't know why, but I'm liking Blender more and more as I use it, even if my models are simpre, I enjoy making them. Maybe it's because I never used other 3d Modeller before.
