Hi Everyone,

So Kyle, Jeff and I (...oh, and of course Joshua...team is pretty lean nowdays...that would be in numbers and not weight...) have thrown our hat into the ring and entered the MyDreamRPG Game contest. I know what you're all saying, aren't they working on that other game, what was it called, Monster something or other? Yeah we are still working on Code Name: Monster Island which is primarily my project with Kyle helping out when and where he can.

I guess if it's any consolation we actually have two other 3D games started in TGE and one in TGB along with Joshua's Federation Express being made in GameMaker. We'll let the cat out of the bag on the other projects in some later post, but this one involves Dwarf Quest: The Legend of Helga

Looks like were going to be working in 1.5.1 with Alex S.'s Modernization Kit, the latest version is very nice and if you haven't checked it out you should. What I've discovered as of late is that Kyle is actually a lot better at DIF construction and level layouts than I am, which was great to realize because I've been stretching myself a little thin and now I just might get a chance to learn Silo and Lightray3D up to the level I've been meaning to do.

We have nearly completed the Dwarf Quest design document, and once we have that submitted, we will be posting another plan outlining the game storyline. A lot of the locations and some other content comes from a novel I had nearly completed in the late 90's (that unfortunately went up in a house fire, with only one binder of notes recovered...back ups, always have backups). Along with a whole lot of pokes at everyone and everything we can make fun.

I wanted to post a few images from what we've got so far. Since obviously it has a more medieval look to it, it's been a challenge to me to re-think my building designs, but Kyle has taken to it like a fish to water. The first few here are mine, while the ones using the DRL/Bloom/1.5.1 that follow are Kyles. As usual appreciate all comments (fair or foul).

Hey MB6019,

It's TGE with Alex Scarborough's Modernization Kit. It's a great resource for Torque.

Looks great Alan, you guys make it look so easy.

I see you discovered Psionic. He has some pretty decent models especially considering they're free.

I knew it was TGE I was just complimenting how nice it looks as if it were made in TGEA

Ah, I didn't read it right, duh...too many late nights! =) Thanks!

@Tim

Yeah, I picked up a few of his soldier models quite a while ago for CN:MI when it was set originally in a modern time setting, and came across his Dwarf. I been setting on him just waiting for the right project. He weilds a mean war hammer once you get all the mount points right on him for TGE! He still might be temporary if I can get a handle on a couple modeling programs I'm trying to learn.

Is it the video quality or does your screen really jump around like that?

Seems like the mouse sensitivity is set too high (for my liking anyhow).

@James,

It's probably a combination of Kyle learning Fraps and what settings work best for a vid capture, capturing at a weird resolution (in relation to what he's running his screen at), and that he can sometimes be a little spastic...I mean his mouse sensitivity is probably pretty high...yeah, that's it...

Don't read this Kyle.

@Alan,

"he can sometimes be a little spastic..." I can relate to that. But I must say, your work it quite impressive., especially considering how long the contest has been going. Me thinks I think I may have to take a look at this Modernization Kit.

Anyhow Good luck to you guys!

and Cheers!
