...I just qualified myself as an old school D&D nerd there didn't I?

That's ok, my cloak of indifference will protect me.

This is sort of an unofficial announcement for the release of the first three in a series of Mini Packs. They should officially launch in a few days.

Well, in this case it's a set of art assets extracted from my FPS Environment Pack to create a smaller more affordable content pack designed to target specific needs.

The Mini Packs will make it easy for anyone who needs art for their project to pick and choose from select sets of similarly themed content, like the Graveyard, Barnyard, or the Barrels and Crates Mini Packs.

The art assets for each Mini Pack will come in .dts, .3ds, Maya and LightWave Friendly formats. All original source art will be included as well. I would love to get feedback from the community on what other file formats would make your project development easier.

I will be releasing several more Mini Packs through Garage Games very soon, but if you have seen elements of my FPS or RTS Environment Packs that you think would make a great mini pack, let me know. For that matter, any content pack suggestions are welcome.

coolio!

Hey, good job, Todd, that's a great idea. You should throw "Docks & Pilings" in there as another one!

Rubes   (Nov 01, 2006 at 18:16 GMT)
This makes a lot of sense. And it's cool, too.

Absolutely. And notably, you don't sound particularly embarrassed about it. ;)

@ Tim.

Thanks! Could not have done it with out your help.

@ Andrew,
What would you happen to be looking for?

@ Tom,
Thanks, Glad you like it.

@ Chris,
Thanks very much. And now that you mention it "Docks & Pilings" just so happens to be on the list. :O)

@ Rubes,
Yup, played a lot as a kid ...that was back in the basic and 1st addition days.

Well, i mean... i like the barrels and crates, and the graveyard stuff. I was hoping for some textures, and like Chris said, the Docks and Pilings stuff.

What i meant by "Well sort of" is that i actually put the project i would have used those for on hold. But i could still use them! And I'm still going to buy the barrels!

Andrew, you mean like map textures?

The other Mini Packs are coming, these first three are sort of a test case for the "Mini Pack" idea. If they are received well, then I could part out elements of both of my big environment packs so that the community could pick what they need, or purchase the whole thing in one pack.

Andrew Hull   (Nov 01, 2006 at 19:01 GMT)
Yeah, map textures, sky boxes, interior textures (did you use interiors?), those kind.

Amr Bekhit   (Nov 01, 2006 at 20:02 GMT)
Those are some really nice asset packs - at a very tempting price too! Please make more!

Hey, great stuff as usual!

I have a request for a pack however. I'd like a pack of all the GarageGames employees for a "celebrity deathmatch" game ;)

Todd Pickens   (Nov 01, 2006 at 20:20 GMT)
Jonathon, Thanks very much.

I can't help you with that pack, but it would be pretty funny :O)

LightRay3d is coming up pretty fast. I have been testing it for while now. Outstanding software and very easy to use but on the other hands 3ds file is in there. I can pretty much convert them over to any software without any problems. I look forward to your other packs so I far have brought the others. Outstanding work.

Thanks very much Michael,

I have a few original content Mini Pack coming up which are not part of my larger packs.

I would like to see you do some interiors Todd. I would pay anything for a modern building pack. (Actually, any building pack would be good!)
