Hello Everyone,

Just a quick update letting everyone know we are still here and progress on the game NNROTF
is still going strong.

Me and my cousin Nick have been working tirelessly on the game and we have even contracted out a few talented people to help out.

The art and level design which is my area has been kind of slow to say the least because a lot of the assets that we have in game had to be made from scratch, but now I have a building block in which to work from. I can mix and use assets now and can quickly modify them in our level design tool.

We are 100% finished with milestone 1 and 20% with milestone 2, there will be an official release in the following weeks.

Now without further delay some in-game screenshots of our enemy model. Have a look and give us some feedback on what you think.

Are you planning on keeping the advertisements in the game, or are you using them just for props?

Anthony Harris   (Sep 30, 2006 at 00:48 GMT)
the buildings are great...how did you model them? extrude from photo's?

John Tesseris   (Sep 30, 2006 at 00:56 GMT)
@Tony - They are just props for now but i have some other adverts that I have created and will eventually use.

@Anthony - Yes the buildings were mostly from photo data that i collected and some that I remembered growing up in Chicago :) The actual .dif models were made by me piece by piece and then put together in one giant block.

Awesome models! They look to be just the right polycount, not too high for performance sake, but not ridiculously low poly either, with a really nice, consistant texture.
I also love the atmosphere of the fog in the background.

Thanks Mincetro! That's actually the first feedback someone has given us on the model! And it's not even animated yet, that's just the default pose.

Atmosphere is very important for our game and John has been doing an awesome job on that. I think he meant to say "DIF models" though regarding the buildings. Once he's done with the city level, those pretty buildings are going to get "destroyed" to give the city a more realistic post-nuclear look.

I encourage anyone who's interested in Nuclear Nightmare to sign up in the forums to keep up with the latest advancements, ask questions, provide feedback, etc.

Thanks for you kind words Michael.

I would also like to thank Vas from Basil Studio for the models, he took a plain 2 dimentional sketch I had drawn and breathed life into it. Much respect Vas.
