GID17 - Sim Beverage (and more)
I had most of last week off, so I decided I'd use it to wrap up as many of my side projects as possible. Past GIDs have left me with a few small, unfinished games that I wanted to at least polish up and show to the world.
With that in mind, the idea for this GID was to create something real quick that I would have no desire to finish in the future. =)
What Sim Beverage lacks in graphics, it makes up for in realism. Because it IS real. It's essentially a client that connects to my research lab -- yes, believe it or not, my day job is at a facility that, among other things, studies the effect of different consumable beverages on human behavior. If you're familiar with UNIX, you can probably figure out how it works. I just ask that you don't mess with my local account (especially the secret 'pr0n' stash ;).

With that out of the way, I began re-working a past GID, previously titled 1-2-3 Robot, which was a game I made for my 2-year-old nephew. I realized that it was rather dry, so I changed the mouse cursor to an animated bumble bee, added some colorful shapes, and a little musical ending (which I still need to clean up and animate). There are a lot of parents of small children here at the lab, so I figure it might be nice to send out for Christmas.

Earlier this week, I finished up and published Dead Man's 31, which was my most recent GID. I've added some new artwork, optimized some stuff, and added a bit of a metagame in the form of matches (first to 2 games is the winner). It's still confusing to most people. =)

Finally, this isn't GID-related, but there seemed to be interest Barbarian Roller Rally after I posted a WIP screenshot. It's now finished and available for download:

I always look forward to seeing what you come up with :)
Did you get that secret thingy into Dead Man's 31 that I mentioned after the last GID ? I'm trying not to say what it is since if you did get it done it would kinda ruin the surprise ;-)

@Anton - Well, you can take some of the credit (blame). I wasn't even planning to finish Barbarian, but when you posted it on your weekly thing, I thought, "Damn, I guess I have to now." =)
@Jimomighty - Plans are good for you!
