Minions of Mirth, the saga continues
It's been less that 7 months since Minions of Mirth was "ported" to Torque. There's still a fair amount of work to do, but hey, this doesn't suck:

** Huge, Tremendous, Gigantic thanks to Magnus Blikstad of WiT Entertainment for his work on MoM's dragons.

The shots don't really do the models/animations justice. I would shoot some video of flying, running, fire breathing dragon madness if my eyes weren't about to fall out.

Those dragons look sick! Nice models, and great texture work. Woot!

Magnus is the fastest, concept artist -> modeller -> rigger -> animator -> texturer -> kick ass end product, guy that I have ever worked with...

He's also very pleasant. A rare combination indeed!

Andy Schatz   (Aug 04, 2005 at 17:01 GMT)
Very nice. Man, I can't wait to see the whole (game) world get populated with monsters of this quality. Wow.

Joshua Dallman   (Aug 04, 2005 at 18:44 GMT)
WOW. those models are fantastic! you could make a whole game just with this dragon IP alone; and yet, in the MoM world, it's just one piece of the puzzle.

outstanding work Magnus! and Josh, I'm glad you appreciate his work and professionalism so much; he's definitely top-drawer.

Without sounding corny, you guys are an inspiration to all of us. And proof that great stuff does come from the Indie game world!

Thomas Natale   (Aug 05, 2005 at 22:49 GMT)
@Alfred Norris: I second the inspiration comment no matter how corny it sounds... I played MoM a week ago.. I want to get some time and play the update online.. Haven't been able to play multiplayer yet, it sounds like fun! Those dragons are beyond awesome.. I love dragons.

Josh Williams   (Aug 07, 2005 at 08:01 GMT)
Man.... I gotta get a free weekend and kick around in MoM again. Very, very cool Josh!
