Oh sweet mother of icons! Hooray, not only has this announcement come right at the time I need creature models but also just when I need all the icons I can lay my hands on! Josh you are a marvel.

AND the MMO kit tech for free. Mmmmm, delicious. I've been eyeing out your environmental/day night stuff for ages. And I'm sure there is plenty of other things I can use in there.

Quick question, can we get a UVMap to go with the clothing and armor pack, for those of us who want to apply them to our own model? You know, like the grid picture that unwrap UVW can export, so we can use that as a base blueprint for our own UV maps?

Thats aaaaalot for stuff, for only 200$!

Prairie Games has done it agein. :)

First they made the first blown mmo with torque, and they did a good job. So many of us got xtra fire in our dreams, that maybe just maybe someday it was possible for us to do the same.
Then they made the Torque mmo kit free for all tge/acraneFX owner.
...and now all this for just 200...

So for 400$ all get the chanse to learn and make their own mmo.
(TGE 150, AFX 50 , MMOkit free, Combo Pack 200.)

Even if someone wanted the Combo Pack only to prototype with, its really cheap. It would take lots and lots of months to make the items needed to prototype with - and time is money. Time that instead could be used on other aspects of the game.
And for does that get to the point that they feel they are ready to jump out in the mmo market, they can afford to make some new skinns or new models to make their game more unike.
This way you can prototype as many mmo's you like without much cost. I bet there is alot that have burned a hole in their pocket on buying expensive moddels they never get to use because their projects got canselled.
Because of Prarie Games wonderfull Combo-pack and mmo kit - we dont have to get broke to follow our dreams.

Thanks Josh & Lara.

:)

I love indies. They are so caring and giving.

I already see 3 things I could really use for Zombies at my Nation... Werewolf, Amphibian and the Mummy. Wow, I must be getting lucky this month.

wow

Joe Rossi   (Aug 13, 2007 at 03:40 GMT)
This is just awesome..there seems to be more models than in the original announcement, even awesomer! I may need to pick up the combo pack :)

I'm guessing the answer is yes, but can the models be loaded into TGB? Does the license allow skin/model modifications? And if we wanted to go from indie to enterprise at some point, is there a way to upgrade without having to pay the full enterprise license fee?

Bought the combo pack! :)

Great stuff. No DSQ's for the animations, but that's cool. In my opinion this is not a good resource for noobs. You would need a fair bit of knowledge about the Torque Game Engine to drop these in to it stock. Works great with the MMO kit, which also takes a bit of know-how. I understand this can be debated with some rather good points on both sides, I'm just looking out for the fresh meat. ;)

No documentation in the download. While the MMO Kit has a good community, sure would have been nice to see some good docs.

Still, for the price, this pack is absolutely awesome. And a definite buy for all intermediate to advanced indies out there.

I have a dragon in stock torque now and it is amazing! Absolutely amazing!

Great Job!

Hey all, thanks for the comments... please email our support with questions and comments: support@prairiegames.com

@Joe: Yes, you may modify them... and if you need to upgrade you can just contact us at the support email and we'll arrange it.

@Trenton: Thanks! We exported the animations into the DTS from Milkshape to make things easier to get started. If you want DSQ, checking the "export DSQ" option should work. You might want to make sure to get the updated Milkshape exporter we released. It supports 4 weights per vertex instead of one. It's available on our downloads page: http://www.mmoworkshop.com/trac/mom/wiki/Downloads

We'll soon have the C++ patch for the MMO Kit available... this includes the player modifications to TGE 1.5.2 to make these work in stock Torque. So, that's a good thing. We're still stretched a bit thin at the documentaion level ... though, the DTS do load into stock Showtool Pro and the MS3D should load right up in MS3D for inspection.. so, that hopefully helps :)

I am going to wait for a proper noob friendly documentation for just using it for SP RPG games.. unless there is already one.

Josh, where can I find details about the licensing for the art?

I'm making my own player models but I'd like to use the clothing and armor pack. Can I alter the textures to work with my own models (not to resell)?
