--- MMOWorkshop.com Mission Statement ---

MMOWorkshop.com's mission is to provide developers with the technology, tools, and content needed to create successful MMO games.

This is turning out to be a lot of work :) But, we're steadily getting there. Here's an update on our soon to be released RPG/MMORPG Content Packs.

--- Pack Notes ---

+ The packs will include files in the Torque DTS and Milkshape3D MS3D formats. (We're looking into supporting other formats as well, such as Ogre3D and Blender.)

+ The models are compatible with the Torque MMO Kit and we'll provide sample scripts for setting up characters using them.

+ The DTS files will load without modification into stock Torque and Torque Showtool Pro. However, these models are not replacements for the default Torque biped player model. If you want to use them in stock Torque, you'll have to modify the player C++ source code.

--- Avatar Pack ---

--- Critter Pack ---

--- Mythical Creature Pack ---

--- Monster Pack ---

--- Clothing and Armor Pack ---

330 textures arranged into 66 sets with body, arm, hand, leg, and foot components

Yeah, fabulous Josh (and Magnus, Christophe)!

While most are well done, a few definitely need some additional polish. In particular, some of the critters; I had to laugh when I saw the wolf and bear -- I would not ever use those, even if they were free.

That's funny, I liked the wolf! Great job you guys, glad somebody finally put out a serious animal pack for Torque! (HINT: Andy Schatz, nudge nudge!)

Love the snake.

Josh you guys never cease to amaze me. Great colaborations and I am definitely wanting to see where the falls price wise. 100s of hours in those.

Thanks and keep up the good work. Great to see succesful people giving back to help others.

EDIT: Question.. How intricate is the C++ mod that needs to be done and are the mod instructions included with the models?

Thanks

incredible stuff. I thought the models had *lots* of artistic creativity! And the walk animations differed from model to model in very fitting ways. Any info on LODs / triangle counts?

The Tris look fine. Low poly with good textures. I'm more concerned with the source mods. As long as the mods are provided super. Sign me up :) Wife is oging to kill me but meh.. you only live once right :) I'll buy the whole shooting match.

Really good looking models there. Are these DTS models that will load into TGB? Does the license allow modifications to the models, like if I want to make a blue skin texture for the spider? Or give one of them a shrunken head?

Gareth Fouche   (Jul 20, 2007 at 14:26 GMT)
I will almost certainly be buying these. Even modifying the code to get them to work will be more than worth the savings in time. And hooray for getting the source! :)

Question. The clothing pack. Is it fine for us to apply the textures to our own custom-made models? Can I modify the textures (as long as I don't try to resell them, of course)?

Guimo   (Jul 20, 2007 at 15:10 GMT)
If you include the instructions to modify the C++ code in order to make them work, I'll get the full pack.

Guimo   (Jul 20, 2007 at 15:23 GMT)
Does the monsters also require the modifications to the TGE?

Erik Madison   (Jul 20, 2007 at 19:51 GMT)
I'd like to see the original Max+Biped files. It always makes me cry when an awesome bip job is degraded to MS3D bones.

Gareth Fouche   (Jul 21, 2007 at 10:58 GMT)
Oh man, just watched the vids, I am drooling in anticipation. It doesn't matter if I have to code up a custom player class, these packs will help me SO much.

I've been a bit worried, knowing how much art I need for my RPG, and this pack will relieve me of a huge part of that burden. This is such great timing, thank you Josh and Magnus. I just hope by soon you don't mean a year from now. ;)

(btw, I loved the caterpillar's squirming motions, they're great!)

Jacque Preen   (Jul 24, 2007 at 18:15 GMT)
Hurry I want those dragons! And can you make them so a player can ride it?
