Here's a video of the game I've been working on: http://firoc.org/glyph/GlyphMovie.mp4

Hopefully the server doesn't die under the load, it's not a hugely fast connection. Got soem positive feedback about the video after using it to illustrate a particle effect in another thread, so I thought I'd go ahead and share it.

Took aaaaaaages to load, but it was mighty impressive. You should really give some mroe detail so people view this video, because I think its definitely worth people seeing it!

EDIT: With your permission I could put it up on my webspace as a .zip so people can download it quickly and easily?

Some of the particle effects in the video are super-gnarly, like that one that looks like a bubble chasing people, sort of. Well, it's kind of hard to describe it :)

It's too bad people don't post cool particle-using art assets in the art forums. I'm thinking of swords that shoot off sparks, or self-contained spell effects like Gonzo's spell-effect-via-an-explosion example.

As for some detail on the game and movie, see the website http://firoc.org/glyph and my previous .plans.

The movie basically shows off a player fighting some monsters, content pack assets, our new lighting system, community resources for day/night cycles and dynamic weather, tons of particle effects, a bit of our AI system, a brief look at the UI and the items one acquires in the game, and finally--the coolest part--two players battling it out with spells flying everywhere.

Wow ... very impressive ... very inspiring.

Was that just standard TGE or was the lighting pack or TSE used ?

Standard TGE, with our own lighting system enhancements.

Wow Kyle, looking great. :) I'm always impressed with the improvements to Glyph. Keep up the good work, I'm excited to see where this goes.
