Guns, Robots, and the light at the end of the tunnel.
So, It's been an unbelievably long time since I did this last. I wanted to wait until something, anything, got finished. But since that day is still a ways off, I wanted to log an update, a mile marker, so I can feel like I'm getting somewhere. Given this long stretch, it seems like much more should have happened than did. But I think that might be an illusion. Juggling four or five projects is just not a great strategy. No matter how much work gets thrown at the mess, no one project progresses very far. But now a few are close to finished, so the next few months should be interesting.
Modern Weapons Pack:
This project has been sitting on my drive, close to done, for some time. All the meshes are complete and UV mapped. I just need
to do some painting and get the materials tuned up. I've linked some in-engine movies. Both are in-progress, but getting close.
TST Pro Pistol Movie
TST Pro Mac11 Movie
Here's a shot of all the final meshes: RPG-7, Mac-11, AK-47, M4-A1, MP5, Bayonette, Pistol, FAMAS.

Mech Pack:
This project has been in the works ever since Joe and I finished the space orc well over a year ago. In the midst of my excitement I quickly discovered that building a fully articulated Mech was frought with challenges. In many ways it's much more difficult than building a skinned character. But now the mesh is finished and mapped. Just painting and animating left on this one as well.
In addition to the mesh/texture/animations, this pack will also include a comprehensive step by step guide to modeling and texturing. All the tricks and techniques I've picked up over the decade I've been doing this.
Here's a shot of the final mesh:

Along with these two, I've been working on a female character pack for GG, a full game project with Brian Ramage, and of course regular contract work to pay the bills.
That's it for now. I'll be back soon with some regular rants that aren't so project oriented.

@Phil - I'll surely add a recoil. And perhaps a couple muzzle flashes for the whole group.
@Rubes - I'm excited about the guide. I've been wanting to write an updated one for some time.
@Nathan - Sorry no sniper rifle. Depending on how useful this pack is to the community, I may build an addition later on.
@Randy - Yeah, had to go with the Desert Eagle, it's just so big and powerful. And yes, all these models will be torque ready.

Thanks for the reply about the eagle I have fired one before it's funny. The shells tend to hit you in the head.. (I might even have some video or pics of that lol).
