Here's my evolution to the point I'm at right now. It first started when I wanted to do a remake of sorts of the classic After Dark Totally Twisted screensavers. I began working on a T2D project whereby an animated guy (named Barney, but not the purple dinosaur) would run around his yard pushing a lawnmower running over little furry creatures thereby splattering blood. Well, it worked but just wasn't that fun. It was going to be a screensaver so all you do is watch it. Zero interactivity. I then decided that I wanted to make it a game. But not just an ordinary game. A full blown 3D game called: P.E.S.T. - Pest Exterminator of San Trenton. Well, I had a default mission set up. I rigged the Barney character for animation and got him imported into the game. I then grabbed the buggy and put that in the world and made it so Barney can run up to the vehicle and jump in it. It was then I realized, as a lone programmer that it would take me too long to do what I wanted.
So now I present P.E.S.T. Same game, different style. It's back to 2D but I'm not going to give too much away at this point. For now, here's an image of Barney using the flamethrower weapon (actually if you notice, he's not holding any weapon but you do see the flames emitting).

If you actually want to try the pre-pre-pre-pre-pre alpha demo out, you can grab it here: www.schmidt6.com/blogfiles/PEST.zip. When you start it, press 1 on the keyboard for my very temporary machine gun and #2 for my almost complete flamethrower.

Looks good, for being a pre-pre-pre-pre-pre alpha, :D
