Blog post

Hi everyone,

I keep bumping into this door issue all the time and every time the search results come with very little if almost nothing (we're in 2008); So I figured why not throw in a decent pack with doors enough to fill up a garage store :)

Now, do not expect intricate scripting or anything of the sort - this pack is just here to give you basic doors in your game - whatever that game happens to be about; You have rollup doors and normal doors categories with open/close animation for each door.

But I thought that's not enough so I also added triggers and scripts to make those doors work in a jiffy. The only work required for you to make a door open/close is to add it to the mission and give it a name (see documentation included).

An extras of the door textures used:

I also included a nice bonus :

All textures ~ windows or doors ~ have normal map correspondent ~ but I will leave you the pleasure to test out material settings, although the material.cs is laid out.

Listing (from Website)

Models ~ 45 unique doors with open ~ close animation sequences, exported as DTS;
Materials ~ 84 unique textures - out of which 39 windows textures with NM correspondent.
Scripts ~ Doortemplate.cs, DoorTemplateTrigger.cs
3dsMax - all sources included

Doors Pack comes with 45 animated doors, complete with scripts and documentation on how to hook up a basic animated door in your game. This includes simple wood doors, electric box doors, carved wood house doors, metal doors, roll up garage doors, door script template, triggers script template - all doors work out of the box if you execute the scripts in your game.cs file.
All door textures have normal maps as well; as a bonus, I added 39 windows textures.
Doors Pack is available at a promotional price (25 USD) for a short time.

note: the textures from this pack are unique, meaning you won't end up with duplicate texture assets if purchasing Texture Pack

Great job Danila!
Awesome presentation for the pack. Gorgeous.

Though, I have not noticed middle-aged style doors... I guess a few of the MMORPG makers could be interested in. Some sci-fi style looking could be welcome too.

Stephan ~ about that MMO thing ~ I have serious plans to provide more than doors to MMO projects. More info soon. As for the presentation, I just added the doors in a Constructor scene.
jydog, Surge ~ thanks!

Looks nice, you work it out so that the windows shatter, or is it just the textures? And what's this cute game you've been talking about?

Nope, no windows models, just textures (for now); As for the game, it's about time I start working on one, isn't it? : )

Hello Danila,
This is mentioned on your site as TGEA. At the moment I'm working in TGE. Are there any incompatibilities or problems between this pack and TGE?

Thanks

David, this should work in TGE just fine.

Do you have any videos of this in action?
