What a fantastic feeling getting "back" to gamedev. I've just aquired the TGB, so now there is no excuse not to create great games.

Back in '04, I was fortunate enough to participate in a GIW (GI2D) with Thomas "Man of Ice" Lund. We managed to get through 2 days of intense gamedev, and ended up with this result. A great learning experience.

Almost two years later, I'm starting up again, this time poking around the TGB. Top priority is wrapping my head around the engine, scripting and all the bits and pieces that follow, while trying to put it all into a "learning by doing" gamedev process.

The start-up learning by doing game will be a top-down scrollable racing curcuit, inspired by the oldschool classic SuperSprint by Atari. Simple gameplay and leveldesign, just to grasp the fundamental TGB concepts.

Micromachines - that was great fun back in the day. 3-4 players crammed on one keyboard - fantastic!

Here we go - coders art, all the way!

New updates screenshop. The track is made up of about 14 different tile shapes. It's a work-in-progress - the next step is to make a larger track, and make the camera follow the racer around. Oh, and a pretty gui that can display all sorts of things like lap#, "power-ups" and such.

...and AI... somehow the other racers need to get going, or else the fun quicky wears off.

Oh - and it's all 100% home-made graphics... just in case you counldn't tell ;-)
