Hello All
There comes a time in life when following a dream becomes derailed. After some very careful concideration I have decided that my dreams of working in game development have reluctantly come to the end of the line. Supporting my family has now taken a far higher priority, and I have to put them first.
My new venture can be found at www.cardcapers.co.uk not game related I know but still I am finding alot of enjoyment from actually running a steady business.
On the game development front, I still plan to return to it, but maybe more as a welcome distraction rather than activly working towards a full time job. There is some nice things happening around here, and I will check back often.
But for now I guess its a good night from me.
-James.

Just a note here, might want to delete this resource sometime before your kids are able to read it... Might be a bummer for them, thats all I'm gonna say, ;)

Quote:I think sometimes because game dev can take a lot longer then expected, it can be difficult to make it your sole income (especially if no other sources of money is coming in), this is why it's important (especially in the beginning) to choose the right project(s) that can be achieved in a good set time.
Supporting my family has now taken a far higher priority
Forgive me advance if I'm looking too deep into all of this. It's just hard seeing this kinda thing sometimes (although I know it's a reality), especially when you haven't had chance to at least release a failed game or 2.
On the other hand, crafting is massive too (if shopping TV is to be believed) so this venture should bring in the income (which well also hopefully aid you in any future gaming projects) you are needing. The site looks pretty good and solid! :0)

I will post a futher blog in the next week or so, to outline what went right, what went wrong and why I came about this business opertunity. I can safley say that the biggest single factor in my dream being derailed are entirly personal reasons, related to a break down in my family, leaving me as a single dad.
Thanks.
James.

Yes mate, it is now fixed. My server was changed as it went down with a hardware fault, it knocked my SSL certificate out.
