Will the pack include 3ds files?

Mark Berry   (Mar 11, 2007 at 17:18 GMT)
Sounds good, I dont want to nit pick, but will you have different firing positions? ie, will a sniper rifle still be fired from the hip?

Looking forward to my next content pack splurge :-)

The pack contains the Max files for version 6 and greater as well as pre-exported dts files. Skinned meshes with animations are a little tricky to convert to other file formats. The weapons minus animations could easily be made available in other formats (3ds/obj etc).

Are you referring to first person or third person? If first person, watch the video to get an idea of default positioning. Keep in mind the pack comes with a weapon editor which enables you to modify the position of the weapon in game through a GUI. Don't forget that the sniper rifle will primarily be fired through the scope (there is no crosshair for the sniper rifle to encourage this). Third person positioning can be whatever you want it to be, with the use of arm threads.

I would like to purchase this pack now please:) Hope it's still close to release.

Hi,

We didn't think there would be any interest in our pack since the release of the ModMaker pack. I still reckon our code is superior to whatever the ModMaker pack gives you.

Eric Johnson   (Jun 03, 2007 at 20:09 GMT)
Yes your code has exactly what the other packs seem to be missing... The complete working solution! ModMaker might have stole some of your thunder with the stellar weapon work but I'm still holding out for your pack because it would actually help me:) As an artist myself it's always mostly the code.

Here's what I'll do... I'll upload a downloadable, playable demo and let the public decide whether we've got something good and if it's worth us going ahead and finishing this off. I'll make a post on the forums, maybe an IOD and a new blog too.

Just need a little time to sort out some encryption to prevent cowboy bandits from stealing our work.

Eric Johnson   (Jun 04, 2007 at 16:12 GMT)
Excellent! Thank you!

Chris \"C2\" Byars   (Jun 07, 2007 at 03:39 GMT)
No encryption come on :P

Tim Heldna   (Jun 07, 2007 at 07:33 GMT)
Encryption is taking longer than expected, sorry we just can't risk people stealing our work!

Tim Heldna   (Jun 25, 2007 at 09:00 GMT)
The pack will be released on Monday, 2nd July.

It will cost $30 US and will be available for sale on Turbo Squid.

Eric Johnson   (Jun 25, 2007 at 16:18 GMT)
Sounds good. Will you be offering some type of limited support (Basic question, scripts, code merger, etc)?

Tim Heldna   (Jun 26, 2007 at 04:01 GMT)
I'll provide support for the pack for as long as I'm alive. We have our own forums and I'll set up a special area for owners of the pack. The pack comes with documentation as well. Any updates to the pack (we may add more weapons, additional code, improvements etc) will be free for life.

There will also be a downloadable demo released so you can 'try before you buy'.

The only thing we're charging you for is the actual weapon models/textures. The scripts and particles are free, as well as an entire fps test level (various dif buildings and textures and dts static shapes, skybox etc). The pack also includes all the required weapon sounds however these are not free for commercial use.

Dead. Tim Heldna is nonresponsive to any messages. Unfortunate, this would have come in handy.
