"Official" Torque 101 is two weeks in
Well about time I made a plan :)
Two weeks ago I started an "Official" Torque 101 class. After doing the "casual" session for 2+ months I finally was ready to start a much more intense "official" one. This involves tests, assignments, and a final. At the end of it I will give out certificates of successful completion. I'm also trying to get some sort of "reward" for people completing the sessions so if anyone out there is willing to contribute any licenses/software/etc it would be much appreciated :)
In this session I required them to buy the engine since I want to go into some source code.
This weeks assignment is in two parts.
Part 1) make 10 posts on the boards, at least five different forums (news/blogs/resources count as well), 2 of the posts must be in the Private Forums. So you might see some Torque 101ers posting around the forums.
Part 2) Defined design documenation.
Presently there are 7 people participating. They all seem very dedicated and motivated. I have been very pleased with how respectfull they've been and how eager they are at learning Torque. I have no doubt in the endorsement I'll give them when they finish. My assignments and tests aren't going to be very easy either. The idea is not to drill them though, its to teach them as much as possible, though to give them my personal endorsement they will have to jump through the hurdles (not implying that my personal endorsement means all that much though).
(btw if your a Torque 101er and you post in reply to this add a tag to the end of your name letting people know you are :)
Also one person attending is recording the session on a camcorder and depending on how much of an ass I make of myself on the videos I will make them available online lol.
Towards the end I will have them develop everything as a resource and we will submit it on the Garage Games site.
On other news... I graduate in roughly 2 months and the plan is to shortly after intern at Garage Games. I'm very excited at the opportunity to spend time up at Garage Games.

All joking aside, just about all of GG staff is looking forward to working with Matt, and we can't wait to get him in our clutches..err, umm, working with us more closely. We have big plans for him, and can't wait to get him started on some very nifty things!

Just thought I would make an introduction to everyone, and thought this would be a good place to do it =D
