(codename) Project Pineapple - because writing your first game is like biting off more than you can chew!

updates since my last .plan

Switching from TGE to T2D I decided that a 3D game was "more than I can chew" for my first game. I am totally liking Torque 2D so far!

I am on the verge of buying Slickedit (a rather expensive programmer's editor). It turns out to be pretty easy to modify right out of the box to support torquescript (and C++ of course). I will start a new Resource thread about Slickedit and usage with torquescript.

cute cat, doesn't seem to like your pinapple :p

does the game involve cats?

At last, the gods have answered my prayers! A game featuring both pineapples AND angry cats!
The first game is really the hardest in terms of figuring out how much time everything takes, but it is a necessary step.

Moving to T2d is definitely a great idea! It's so much faster to prototype ideas with it. I bought TGE 2 years ago and the scope of it all frankly confused me...I learned so much, yet, every stone you turn reveals another set of questions. Working with T2d since the day it got out, I can safely say I learned way faster than in my 2 years of TGE. Since you don't have to mess around with the whole client server thing (yet :)), it's easier to get a grasp on things.

It also makes the step into TGE a whole lot easier if you understand T2D :)

does your gameplay center on dropping huge pineapples on cute little cats to crush them? where do I order...

Sorry, me game doesn't involve cats or pineapples actually, but children are like mirrors into your life and so are pets I guess :-)
