After 2 years of part-time messing around with TGE and T2D (now TGB) I am finally buckling down and doing some real game development. Is this mad game prototyping - or just scribblings of a daydreamer? Prototyping is hard- it's tough not to get mired down in technical points and aesthetic stuff.

Name (development): Alien Eggz

A casual/puzzle arcade style game kind of loosely based on Chess but the eggs hatch, eat each other, drop down onto the planet, eat your crops, battle the space chicken, and eat the blue mushrooms. Oh and there will be meteor showers also to deal with. It probably sounds wacky, but I've thought a *lot* about the gameplay. Hopefully the gameplay will be as good in the prototype as it is in my head .

Tools

Torque Game Builder, Codeweaver, Subversion, MS Expression, Softimage XSI 5,

Screenshot from TGB

of the game board for level 1 which I threw together in a couple of hours. I thought it looked kinda cool.
(this is just placeholder artwork) Actually the prototype is only like 1% developed so far :-)

Notes and thumbnails

Here are some photos (don't have a scanner) If it looks like just mostly scribbling - yeah that's how I draw :-)

This is really cool stuff. I also really like seeing how you are taking your game concept from your mind, onto the paper, and then into TGB.

Thanks all, I appreciate the feedback! Also if anyone knows of similar sounding games let me know- I want to try to write something unique.
