Hi guys, I'm starting a 3d art project to offer packs of art to the community. Maybe sell them one by one as well. I've been working with Torque for a year or two. Been an animator for 6 or 7 years but only working on game models for a year or so.
I'm interested in finding out if there is any interest in the packs I have in mind. The first one is DIFs of city buildings with attached streets. You can align them like the squares on a checker board and that creates a complete street system with buildings on each block. Not fantesy, but ordinary buildings. You can see the first three buildings at www.lizardfire.com/TorqueImages/buildings/

The main issues are how complex to make the buildings. I don't have much in the way of interiors at this point. Just exteriors. I was thinking I needed to add things like working elevators, doors, interior decorations, street signs, etc. . Maybe sell the DTS details as add ons to the basic DIF.
A few more images are at www.lizardfire.com/TorqueImages/ which show other ideas I have for packs. "Flying things" and "Trees" .
So, does this sound like useful art? I know most games are set in fantesy or cartoon settings, so I'm not sure there is much market for this stuff.
Just for fun, you can find a free DIF fort model at

If youre a decent modeller, I'd probably go for something more like "generic humans" or "gangsters" or themed character packs, maybe roman pack with romanesque packs.

Travis, it makes them jump and if you miss the jump you have to back up and try again. I could make another version with regular steps if anyone has to have it.
Master Treb, that is good to hear, maybe a lot of unique things, like statues, street objects.
Phil, I'm not yet up to making characters for the game, maybe in the future.
Chris, thanks I'll remember that.
Thanks guys,
John
