I'm going to Kosovo for another 6 month so i gues there will not be mutch progress on my game. but I have been working on the ui stuff a little, I think I have the basics done but I cant decide which color to use. Here are the two I like best:

note that "battlegroup" is not the final name of my game nor is it even the project name... but it looked a lot better with a long name I think.

Well... also I have decided not to code anymore until the AI pack and next version of the rts pack is released. So if I have some time over I will concentrate on art work.

Here are a render of some vehicles I made allready, its some different versions of the swedish ifv90 and a strv122 (leo2 a6) with two different textures. Its a RTS game I'm making so they are very low poly, about 2500 poly + the tracks.

Have I nice autumn everyone.

First one is better than the second one if you ask me. Nice stuff you got there, and I wish you luck in Kosova I hope time will pass quick for you.

Glad to see more Torque'ers in the Norrkoping area!

I wish you the best of luck in Kosovo.

Edit: Damn blog software, cut my post in half.

Yeah, I love the first UI example. Great job!

They both look nice and clean, but I like the first one too. Probably because it matches the background image better.

2500 - is not low poly, David, 300 - is low poly ;)
you may have some perfomance issues with 10+ vehicles on low-end cards...
Good job on the models, though

First one eats the second one I think. It fits the background much better, and that just makes it fit all the better. What scale is this RTS on? A real big rts (entire armies nuking each other in realtime 3d over an entire battlefield on one screen) and you'll absolutely kill even the high end graphics cards with models that detailed.

You can very easilly fake a lot of details with textures, like the wheels can just be cylinders with a few sides and textured on details, etc.

The antennas can be billboards absorbing about 4 polies per antenna (2 tris, double sided) the gun barrels can have details cut out and still look fine from a distance, etc etc.

Good luck!

The second one does a good job with contrast, however the first is better.

No question about it. The one at the top with the analogous color scheme is better in this case. Looking good!

I think it's odd that you included that serif font in there though, given that every other font on the page is sans serif. Maybe it doesn't bother anyone else. I'm a weirdo about that kind of thing.

Starting to be a decent size Swedish TGE community! Anyone up for a meet sometime?

David, best of luck in Kosovo. The volunteers deserve a lot more positive recognition than they get.

The first one is a nice, slick gui. Definitely wins out over the second one.

I vote for the first one.
