Plan for Stefan Lundmark

Almost lost hosting, being hacked is not any fun when you just want to develop your game.

We've been hosting our three servers at a company located downtown where I live. It has been working for 14 months, but suddenly today the company called and told me they locked down the server because it had breached their DNS and "stole" 8 IP's from DHCP - which made it impossible for some of their customers to access their broadband. That's serious.

What is happening?
I have no clue how this happened. They said that if I or anyone else from our project didn't do it, then a hacker could have.

I've felt tired when working 12 hours a day with game dev, but right now I really feel burned out. That's what you get from _only_ installing Microsoft Firewall and encrypted storage, I guess. =/

Taking it easy
I'm going to take it easy for a few days, or a week.. I don't know. Everything feels so messy, I can't think. I need to do something else.. It's too much at the same time.


I guess the moral of this story is to never assume that no one wants to sabotage your interests. "We are so small, why would someone attack us? No one would care."

- Maybe that's exactly why.
