The state of my content pack.
So for an update, I'd show some pictures of the INSIDES of some of these buildings that I'm working on. The last two days have been spent portalizing, lighting, and fixing bugs of buildings. The insides look good, but my real pride is in how cool the outside looks since I gave a facelift to a lot of things, but that's for another time. Only a handful more are left for tommorrow to be fixed, and it's been going good. I figured I'd show a handful of interiors from random buildings, empty and ready to be arranged with furniture and what not. Some buildings are bigger or smaller than others. Everything here is very subject to change for texturing, lighting, and misc. fixes and additions / subtractions. Blah blah. Take everything below with a very large grain of salt.

Oh and I came up with a name I think I'm going to use barring any major problems:

My intent with this is to give pack this to developers needing a big jump start on their content and need items, buildings, and whatever they want that are in this sort of style. I want to provide the materials to give them what they need to build their own small world, and then provide construction materials so they can keep creating more items & content of their own building off this as a base.
I'm also negotiating a few projects to be working on following the release of RPG-Implant. I can't talk about that though, but some are fairly high profile and I'm flattered to be considered. :)

-138 Tileable textures of all kinds (This number is going to go up still however textures are photorealistic and hand-drawn depending on needs).
Before I forget, I want to send a big shout out to Matt Fairfax, Tom Brampton, Brett Fatori, Nauris Krauze, and Joe Maru for being extremely helpful, good teachers, and extremely patient with my newbie questions. Thanks guys!
Whew, that's the stuff actually built so far, and I have a couple more things to still build. A lot of the smaller stuff needs to be textured and what not. I'm looking at about 2 more weeks of solid work give or take a few days depending on what happens inbetween. It's going good though, I'm trying to make it as complete as possible. The two week thing is an optimistic number so don't hold me to it, I think if I keep this pace up I can probably meet it, but I hating setting deadlines.
A lot more questions will be answered as decisions are finalized, but a few I can answer are:
-Yes, the full source art of everything will be included so you can modify everything to whatever your whim.
-Yes, I'm trying to make all this as end user friendly as possible so you don't have to go through hell to make changes to it. I'm going to include a full-featured TGE demo to show how stuff was imagined to be implemented stock, it should be cool. I'm going to try to touch up some concept art so you can through that on your games project page, etc.
-Yes, everything is proportioned and scaled to the Torque Ork player size. After my last .plan when I became serious about this I had to go back and fix a lot of stuff from when I first started playing with this stuff, but it's all standard and optimized.
-I can't comment on the format that it will be distributed in as I am still exploring legally what formats are ok to distribute as, and if it's worth the risk, etc. etc.
-I'm also going to be sure to try to include even a little bit of documentation, and a quick index book of all the stuff so you can look up the model you need and see a picture, it's filename/hierachy and stats on it, etc.
-No price things like that have been set yet, but I'm not looking to get rich and this will be reflected back on the price.
-Objects are a mixture of DTS and DIF (laying heavily on DIF for more structural objects and DTS for organic things).
-That list above is going to get even bigger as I add more and more stuff in. Right now the priority is bringing the rest of the things that are created up to speed however.
-It's just me doing this so it's mega time consuming! I need a drink. ;)
Ok, that's all for now. I won't be updating very regulary as I'm doing a lot of QA on this stuff (on TOP of finishing the project) so I've been putting in 18 hour days and I lost two days for the 4rth of July. This is my last .plan til this thing is ready to GO! I update my web site sporadically whenever something really cool happens really, so check there occasionally. See ya all when it's done.
-Tim
Edit: Oops forgot some buildings on that list...

I'm sitting here dreaming of using Torque + This pack and getting a medieval fantasy action-RPG up and running on a basic level within four weeks. That's great stuff.

Looks great and from the list of what you have it far exceeds typical content packs with only a few items. Will be watching this with baited breath as it looks like a great resource to seed a new game with. It would be interesting to see you pursue further packs like a space one, urban one, etc. Good luck!

I wouldnt be surprised if this became one of the most sought after content packs around here.

Tim, your stuff is amazing. Just plain amazing. You've got some serious talent when it comes to content development. With a few months or years of refinement, you will certainly be a requisite artist for games development!
Keep up the excellent work.

Well, as beautiful as the dingy textures can be, that is! They're perfect for the scene.
You do wonderful work. Everytime I see something from you, you impress me even more! Soon my head may explode.
