GDC was fun this year, had it a bit different as was just there showing of the game to press and doing demos in the meeting room. As always, very inspiring event to see what is going on around the industry as a whole and spotting hot trends and cool new stuff. One thing about GDC is that as much as it stays the same, the more it changes! Tons of opportunity right now for indie devs out there.

Always fun to meet up and hang out with community peeps (Sickhead, SynapseGaming, MaxGaming) and other non indie industry familiar faces and friends.

Probably best press coverage:

Had some big name people come by and give the thumbs up which was a nice feeling.

Anyhow, 5 very talented devs (well 4) putting in a LOT of long hours to get to this point on Legions. Todd Pickens, Matt Ostgard, Thomas Buscaglia and Adam Larson. I help out here or there too!

We keep track of our forums pretty well over here:

Anyhow, Legions got some good press down there, here's a quick summary if you missed it (lots of this is repeat):

Over 9000 views and still rockin' a rating of 8. The game looks awesome and the ease of use on IA is pretty nice. You guys have a really nice 1-2 punch going on here. Easy to get to and fun to play. Good job GG!

That is some amazing press! Great job!

"I help out here or there too" ...HA! There you go being all humble Tim.

There is no way Legions would be alive and rocking today if it were not for you.

I love the mid- air shot in the shaky cam footage. Awesome stuff.

Hi,
good stuff, like many here (I guess) I was a Tribes fanatic :) so I look forward to play Legion.

1)How close to Tribes are you actually keeping it? Will you have deployable turrets, inventory units, repair gun, etc...? Or are you doing something different? Just curiosity... and if you cannot say because it has to be kept under wrap it is fine, I'm sure whichever way you are going, Legion will be a lot of fun to play.

2) in the video you (well the guy doing the talking in the video, it may have been you) mentioned about the mod based business model; did you mean something like actually selling mods as opposed to allow free modding? I simply didn't understand what the speaker said...

Anyway, can't wait :)

It was great to see you all again as well. There was a lot of activity around the GG booth this year in general. The Legions stuff is looking sweet! Nice work all around, Garage Games.

Great Job !!! ;-)

I think what he was getting at with the MOD speak was that modders could spend relatively little time on a single gameplay mode without making it ultra polished and if people like it then take it further. The bottom-line being that so long as it's fun it's worth investing more time into it. With Instant Action the turn around times are fast so they are going after the core gameplay first and using the platform for empirical purposes instead of spending all this time behind closed doors not knowing if the game will hit or not.

Yea I think the "dark times" are fading and PC gaming is starting to shine again. Let's hope Legions of fans buy Legions. :) I know I will...
