So is this spam yet? I can't emphasize enough how much filling out GGE is for the indie developer and how important it is for everyone to get involved. Seeing how my .plan got bumped off the site in 8 hours (wow can you say this site is getting big?) I'm reposting with a link to the contest info:

http://www.garagegames.com/blogs/32699/11800

Win good stuff for sitting at your computer and writing about games you love. :)

No strings attached.

If that wasn't enough, we are updating the prize list! We are giving out a free copy of either TGE 1.5, Minigolf Mania, TGB, or Tim Aste CP #2 (your choice) to the 1st place winners of each contest.

Check out the details here.

I seem to be having difficulties editing my games' profile. When I create my game, I get a lot of error messages about not being able to edit the Header....actually gives me the function IMPLODE[that's a little sketchy], no kidding...

I get the games created and I can then edit to add some screenshots, but when I try to edit the core profile I get an error message telling me I'm using illegal tags...?

I haven't really added any...?? I'm just trying to get the basic up and running...using Mozilla, if it matters. Only 'strange' tags might be the empty price and link in the profile and I leave the Tags space empty. I did notice when I did add the colon for tags, as exampled under the field, I get more errors...I removed the colon and it seemed to hold the data? It's all in the main profile of the added game. It won't hold the image or the description text...??? Well, it's starting to work now...got Oni going. LOL.

I entered some great games in my opinion, I'd really love to finish the profiles and get them looking sweet!

frag on...[group=MilkFarmers & fragDabblers] or would this work [group=lowEndz]

hm....the HELP page lists the above code as working?? I think that's the name of the group and the shortName?

I'm at least helping by rating all the games that I've played :)

We added a bunch of updates tonight and hit a few snags last minute, should be fixed soon.

Ok, what am I missing about how to make the badge work? Very not tech artist in need of assistance.

Todd...
The tag to use is: [ gge_user=username ] (remove the spaces and insert your username)

....artists! Sheesh. ;)

Thanks very much Rubes. That helped.

...but "pretend" I know absolutely nothing about how this stuff works, How do I fill in the other info, or get it to show up?

The badge on my GGE page has games listed in it like yours above does, and how to I fill in the spot where your badges says "Bringing IF to 3D"

Once you log in, click on "My Account", and then on "Edit My Profile".

Below the first section in your profile, there should be a link for "Edit Contents", which should allow you to mess with that stuff.

You also need to change your badge tag above to read [ gge_user=Todd Pickens ] (without the spaces), which will show this:

...which looks quite cool, by the way. Hey, speaking of which, is there any way to specify which games will show up on your badge? It would be nice to have Vespers show up there on mine.

Thanks Rubes!

It was the space between my first and last name that was screwing it up, I thought you were talking about the space you put between the name and the brackets :P

@Todd

Currently, your badge is populated with the 4 games you have most recently marked as played. We have some expansion on this process in the works which will allow you to customize exactly what games you want to show up there.

Thanks Sean.

Rubes, I think that was aimed at you.

Rubes   (Dec 08, 2006 at 22:37 GMT)
Got it, thanks.

Last time I participated in a GG contest Jay told me he was going to send me a shirt and cap, and that never happened. That was Jay of course... a long time ago.
