While other had stuff already planned and ready for the contest some of us had to start from scratch.

My game entry is called Karmatica.

Karmatica is a fantasy world with some rpg elements and a twist 'Random Karma events'

I am using some of the great functionality of the MMOKIT but modified the code to include my random Karma event manager.

So far I have our zone terrain and a few buildings positioned.

I'm also working on some custom interiors.

Early screen shots for a cottage I am designing.
This doesn't have the finished details and textures that will be used in game.
This is just to show you what it looks like so far.

I will update this blog with more detailed information as I get more time to work on this.

I think the textures are very interesting but the architecture is rather dull

Anthony thanks for the reply.

As for the architecture I will be changing the windows, doors, and details soon to make it more interesting.

wow, that brick texture is one hell of a texutre but i dont think it matches to the house

I think your buildings have been SLIMED!

James Bond   (Nov 16, 2006 at 23:15 GMT)
the roof texture is cool though

I think he was going for a mossy look, and it's close to that, but as for the person who said the architecture was dull, most people's houses are dull in that aspect that's what an average house is.
I like the building but I also am pretty bad with 3d modeling so maybe that's what makes me lik people's work more.

Like the karma idea will be interested to hear how that works out

unless the architecture is critical to gameplay.. dont mess with it. Functionality > Looks. (it can always be changed later), but when working with a deadline, you have to make sure what's being done is most critical to completion.

unless your just the modeller and have nothing else you want to do (i'm sure their are other people who'd love your help)

This is a two person show with my wife helping on the 2d graphics for gui and menu items.

Thanks for all the comments.

The house is going to be in a remote area with other things around it to take the dullness away from the architecture.

I will get some more screens of when its finished so you guys can see what it will finally look like.

The mossy texture is actually just for placement right now, it's going to be replaced with a nice cottage looking stone texture with accents around the windows and doors.

Plus the inside will get more details such as a ceiling and wood beams and such to make it look better.

If anyone has anymore ideas please let me know.

Thanks again for all of your constructive criticism.

Concerning the Karma system well I will release more information as the system get's done.

For now it is using some modified features from the MMOKIT plus my own.

Karma system has basic functionality of adding updating and saving karma values to the database for the player character.

Random Karma Event manager is about 20% done.

Basics of Karma system are depending on the amount of good or bad karma is how ofter a karma event will happen.
