You know its a good sign when...
Tonight I just finished wrapping up the last of the required Art changes for the next Dark Horizons - Lore release (I am checking in the last of the images into CVS as I write this), in fact the workload list is down to a few measly little items that are being resolved.

Lore : Invasion is going to absolutely blow your socks off with all the changes that have been done to it, in fact if anything it looks like a whole new game as opposed to the major update that it is. Everything about this release screams "kick ass and cool" and is a shining testiment to what indies can do.

Here is a little teaser for how pumped up and enthused that we are about Lore : Invasion, and trust me, if this image doesn't make you want to try it when its released you had better just quit playing and trying to develop video games because there is something seriously wrong with you :)

Lastly if you are going to GDC come stop by and say hello the MaxGaming crew, we will be either with the GG crew or at our Lore : Invasion display at the IGF competition booth (while you are here, vote Lore and support your community).

Lookin' sweet Logan...you guys are definitely pushing the envelope.

O_O WOW. Is that an in-game or a render? Be sweet if it was in-game...but it looks awesome nonetheless

I have a high resolution version of this image that I will upload sometime tonight for those of you who are curious (it will be 1024x768). I am also hoping that we will be able to use it with a lot of our Lore schwag for GDC & the IGF competition.

As for the image itself. It was rendered in Max but uses all the ingame art from Lore, I choose to render out the image in Max as opposed to in-game because I could setup the shot the way I needed it to be. Aside from some material settings, advanced anti-aliasing and the advanced radiosity there is no difference between it and what's used inside of Lore. There was a little bit of Photoshop work done here for small effects like dust, weapons fire and depth of field blurring.

I just got word that an interview that Adrian and I did with gamedev.net is up in case anyone is intersted in reading it.

Great interview man, that was fun to read.
