Well August has not been good for BRAVE. I worked on a contract 3d modelling job after hours, so I didn't get much time to work on the game. When I did I had to copy / install / config my development environ because my laptop finally died. It took ages to get TGEA to compile, having to install C++, PSK, add all the resources, bug fixes in TGEA etc.
Now I've spent a solid 15 hours on the game and am back to where I was last month, however now the Harvesters land on the humans. What was cool was when the Harvester got stuck on the ground, the human was able to walk right over it!
Now I need to make a hybrid vehicle. Harvester and Landers both hover at some point when they pickup humans, but they both need to fly like jets as well. I've bought Decane's FGE so hopefully that will speed up some of the dev time getting this to work. So I need to make a vehicle that when it gets to the ground it will hover, and avoid obstacles like bridges, cliffs etc and make their way to humans, lower themselves onto the humans and then fly off like a jet - any suggestions on how to do all this would be appreciated.
So I have this list of work.
- Ground avoidance
- Path finding around objects
- Hybrid hover/flying vehicle
- Humans to run away when attacked.
I did find a really cool vid of the new game Warhawk for the Ps3 which has exactly the kind of flight engine I want. So check it out here...

I think I might hire the original Warhawk for the PS1 and see what that flight engine is like. Other than that I hope I get these problems sorted because it's slowing the whole development down.
