Blog post
Just a quick update. I've been working on an interior segment in constructor and the alien Harvester, AI code. I've also been messing around with material for it. The pic shown is work in progress - pretty rough.

I've has some problems trying to get it work as a flying ship with the error "BRAVE/server/scripts/AI_Control.cs (285): Register object failed for object (null) of class FlyingVehicle." Not sure what I'm doing wrong as it has a cam, eye and mount0 node... I'll figure it out anyway.

After I get it flying it will use the same AI code I've working on blogged here...
Waypoints and AI

I also want to get it to hover, and thrust, and when it moves I want it to spew out black smoke like the ships in Escape From Butcher Bay.

I've alo been looking at art by Jim Burns and Angus McKie that I first saw in Mechanismo, a compilation of art and sci fi story ideas, compiled by Harry Harrison (Stainless Steel Rat - I believe). I really like that style and I'm looking into learning speed painting and thumbnail artwork to concept some scenes rapidly. I will then figure out how to make textures look painterly.

Here's some pics...

Nice progress Andy, I am looking forward to when you begin to attempt that look you describe with your textures! painterly? is that a word? **checks wordweb**, oh, ok, it is :0)

Yeah it will be interesting to work that technique out. I have one doc bought off the net on doing clothing in a painterly style, but I still need assistance in learning to speed paint - so if anyone reads this, please point me in the right direction.

I've added some video of the Harvester tracking a human...

Nice video, I like the wobble of the Harvester as it moves :D

Really? I hate the wobble. I'm trying to get rid of that. I think it has something to do with steering force.

Yeah, it kinda gives it character and what not, I suppose I thought it worked because of it's shape, but it's kinda funny it wasn't intentional, so forgive me in advance! :)
